Conflict

We can’t adapt this world to us.

Wanting to change all the circumstances in our lives to meet our specifications is so commonplace. Not only do we want to change every detail, we willfully try to do so & we butt heads with all the other egos who also try to control every event. Most days are riddled with conflict & we seldom meet with success. Opposing opinions aren’t easily blended.

When we can’t change the people & the situations in our lives, what comes next? Until we acquired the wonderful tool that is now at our disposal, we sulked or screamed; sometimes we withdrew & planned our revenge. What a refreshing response we’re able to make now. And it’s so simple. Funny that it never occurred to us before, but our entire identity was wrapped in our need to be right, to be in control. Can we really part with that need?

Deciding to seek another way to see the struggle we’re in removes the stress & the burden of whatever is happening. Only after trying this on many occasions do we come to fully appreciate how good life can be when it’s just left alone.

Today is my chance to look for agreement with others.
I’ll find it every time if I really want it.
