If having compassion for oneself and all sentient beings were a part of our education and even criminal justice systems, and growing awareness was more important than memorizing facts for tests, this world would be a completely different place. I've found compassion, first for one self, and then for others, to be the key to recovery and keeping the addictive mind at bay. The darkness can not thrive where light is shone. Thanks for sharing this.
