Ask 100 People?

Ask 100 people what Love is and you will get 80 different answers.

Ask 100 people what Happiness is and you will get 90 different answers.

Ask 100 alcoholics what Recovery is and you will get 4,500 different answers.

So, what 45 definitions are your own, Boleo?

Does the suggestion that you have 45 different and unrelated definitions of recovery seem disrespectful to you?

Could you maybe just mellow for a bit? Collect your thoughts, try to give your brain a little peace - not approach recovery as a competitive sport? I think you're pretty cool from the posts I first saw from you. I hope you get to a peaceful place soon. That's what I want for me too.

So true .
As there is many people in recovery there are as many individual solutions to seek.

My theory is that those who are growing in their recovery go through many different stages of Metamorphosis.

I myself stated out thinking that psychological tricks & tips were the most advanced tools available in recovery to discovering they they were little more than candy coated abstinence.

My bad.

I think recovery is not using what's not good for you and being happy about it.

And I'd like 1/2 lb. of that candy-coated abstinence, with sprinkles please.

I agree with misty...recovery to me has not ever been about deprivation...it's always been about freedom.

Candy coated abstinence...LOL now that is rich!

There's only one answer. "Recovery" is what you're doing between the time you're drinking and the time you're "Recovered"

recovery meaning

Great I can understand the where the 4500 versions are coming from. Thanks for that post. It helps me to take my recovery pulse as it seems that as I grow it is changing, deepening, and holding more weight.
