epiphany? Hi, I don't mean to start some pity party here, but I'm pretty tired of my routine. I drink and smoke cigarettes regularly, and have for the past twelve years. My, how time flies, and what a waste. It's only a nightly ritual with the alcohol, but it exists and it's bogging me down during the day. I have this inner thing that I need to be doing more with my life other than napping away the hangovers during the day to feel right again. I've thought that maybe I should go to AA, other people can be helpful. I need guidance somewhere....I'm not finding it. Where do I find a group for my area? I'm sorry if I seem ignorant, but there are just so many posts and things here, I don't know where to look. Thank you for any help you can give me. I just don't know where to begin. ![]()

Hang in there L4P. It does get better and you're certainly in the right place for advice. Here's the link to CO AA so you can find a local group in your area. Home If the ones listed are not close to you I'm sure someone will be able to guide you. With work you can succeed. I'm freshly working the succeed part in a drug addiction - so since alcohol is not my forte the info needed to help you on the right path might not be exactly what you need...but it's a start until someone who can help better comes along.

Welcome L4P, I think you'll find, someone searching for sobriety is cause for celebration around here...not a pity party. There are many of us, just like you, searching for peace. The good news, peace can be found. It is real, I know many who have found it and I'm enjoying more peace in my life today than I have in my entire life. If you can't find AA online as was suggested you might try the old fashioned way, the phone book. You are right, other people can be helpful. It's my experience that other people were neccesary, I just couldn't do it by myself. Good luck and hope to see you on this forum again. Peace to you..
