Gratitude

Today I am grateful for a peace within I don't think I ever felt before...as if feels like the war within is finally over...or at least for today. Today I am grateful that I have come to understand that faith in a HP/God/Spirit/Universe is the ability to let go and allow each experience to unfold a moment at time - and that I do not need to fear an unknown future but rather honour its coming and arrival. My faith has replaced my need to only believe in a God that rewarded with gifts of my own design or expectation. Today I am grateful that the painful ache of heartache and loneliness has been removed as a result of the gift of similar struggling souls just like me I have found in these rooms of recovery. Today I am grateful to have found this mystical, exciting, spiritual journey of grace and patience and opportunity. Today I am grateful for the painful road that finally led me here.

Nuudawn, that sentence really caught my eye. Like you, I too have found a wonderful peace in my life, and am grateful every day for the path that led me here.

Thank you so much for your response. I spent the greater part of the afternoon reading your posts of inspiration. They are wonderful and I was so glad to find them here. I know where to go when I'm feeling at a loss.

I am new to recovery at only just over 2 weeks in. I keep hearing of this "pink cloud" that I suspect I'm riding on. Nevertheless, I am truly thankful for peace in this season that usually creates such tremendous lonlieness and heartache within me...especially since my new sobriety came on the heels of a painful breakup.
