The CIA - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I went to an AA meeting where the speaker stated he was a member of the CIA, Catholic Irish Alcoholics.

Thought that was funny. As i am irish --- Correction -- I have Irish Ancestry. (Many would say i'm irish, whereas those who were born and bred would be quick to call me an american. There are certain words that you gotta be real careful with.)

Anyways, i couldn't start this group myself. As children drinking always was a big no no in our house (23 yo old son= child). My 'heritage,' if you will, had nothing to do w/ my drinking.

Tacks,
We have close to 1/2 million converge on Savannah for St. Patty's Day. Everyone wears green and "becomes" Irish for a day. It's become a tame affair compared to the 70's.

The local jokes amoung the "real drunks" used to be:

"Don't go downtown today, bunch of amateurs out there !?! "
