Thanks for the link, a number of us chat over there, but I think I will keep my SR and AA affiliations anonymous and seperate from my Facebook, although if you are a member reading this, and consider yourself my friend, drop me a line | |

Who created this group on FB? Surely not the folks here at SR.com? I share Ago's concerns on anonymity.

As far as I know this FB site is not an official part of our SR site. I am checking into this. Thank you for voicing your concerns. After checking into this I have found out that the owners of SR are the ones who started the FB site so it is an official part of SR. Feel free to utilize it as a social networking site or not depending upon how you feel about your anonymity. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I have a separate recovery Facebook account that helps preserve my anonymity. I know others do the same, too. Just an idea. There is a HUGE community of recovering people on FB with varying degrees of anonymity. You can keep it as anonymous as you want.

Cool. I have no problem with befriending anyone here on Facebook, but I definitely don't talk about my drug/alcohol abuse on Facebook. Feel free to PM me though.

They should make the group private/secret. I have seen that done with other groups before. Only members can see that it exists or something like that. I personally have no problem with anonymity on facebook because I only have family and recovery friends on there, so they all know about me.
