Any vampire movie fans or True Blood fans out there?I play the Vampires application at MySpace and love vampire movies. And then there's True Blood on HBO...LOVE it! OMG assimilating vampires into society...what a cool concept.

I just discovered True Blood the other night. It is awesome! I'm going to start downloading episodes to bring me up to speed. I never could figure out why those people are being held captive in the basement, is it in the bar? Anyhoo, the last guy asked to many questions and he paid for it. Just downloaded Twilight. I think I better see what all of the hoopla is about since I live in the town where the storyline is based. Haven't read the books, but it is on my to do list.

Yeah, the dog/boy/man??? And that woman!!!???? The one who seduced the boy/shapeshifter. What is up with her?? She has got some hormones working for her or what? I guess this is a book series as well. I've got to delve into this and find out more. And the Elvis vampire???? I know they are southern, but what is up with the black hair and those side burns. I laugh every time I see him.

And the woman...yea she has a retreat for substance abusers? Oh sure! Although she puts off good vibrations...LOL. I'm thinking she is an immortal of some sort. Like a queen from antiquity or something.

Huh? She was just smoking pot with them??? I think she lures them in and makes them sex slaves. Yeah, she is something else alright. I just put the book series on my wish list at amazon. Should be good reading.

They are all there because Eric, who is sheriff vampire of the area, has to question them about crimes against vampires. They are screwed. The redneck is the one last season who incited burning the vamp house. The black guy is Lafayette, Tara's cousin, who sold V last season and who prostituted himself with Eddie, the vampire Amy and Jason Stackhouse kidnapped to drain his blood. They're screwed. Another sheriff has disappeared, so Eric is trying everything to find him. | |

If you liked Twilight, True Blood is along the same lines, only a hundred times more intense. You might be able to download last season's episodes (they were available in streaming format for awhile if you dig around), or you can rent the season on DVD to get caught up! Soooooo good. |

I'm a purist when it comes to Vampires -- So, nothing compares with Stoker's Dracula as far as I'm concerned. Of course, the novel is the absolute best -- but I did see Frank Langella do it on Broadway and, although the adaptation wasn't even close to the book, his portrayal of / empathy for the character was absolutely amazing. I heard hm do an interview about it once, and it sent shivers down my spine. And there's a very, very true BBC version from the late 70's staring Louis Jordan -- the most erotic I've ever seen. It's almost impossible to find but my son somehow got me a (pirated I'm sure) copy for my birthday 2 years ago. It's soooooooooo perfect! I've been into vampires forever -- but at this point, that's actually a little disturbing to me -- just too obvious of a connection there between that "fascination" and a pattern of trying to get love and feeling from masculine energied people who are singularly ill-equipped to be able to give it. freya

I liked Rice up to a point. Enjoyed "Twilight" but can't get motivated to read the rest of the series. It's a bit too sweet for my tastes. I've seen a couple episodes of "True Blood" and thought it was quite original in its creepiness. My favorite vamp novel was probably "The Vampire Lestat" and movie was probably "Near Dark," but I liked "Lost Boys" too.

| SR's Secular Greeter Cat. | ![]() My first big screen experience with Dracula was the film "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave " I was able to talk my dad into taking my cousin and me to the matinee. Dad didn't stay for the entire movie because I think it upset his sensibility as a deeply religious man. He went out and sat in his car until the movie was over. Cuz and me sat right in front so as to get the maxim effect...LOL, Quote:

Ooooh. That thing that attacked Sookie...it was Maryanne. I'm so freakin' sure of it. And did you see the scratches on Daphne's back? I think she's about to sink some claws into Sam!! Maryanne is the devil, and the town is a portal to hell. That's my current theory. I'm such a dork, I will watch it again to make certain I didn't miss anything at 11. |
