I am a firm believer in ghosts and spirits. I live in a house that was built in 1908. When I first moved in, I could hear muffled talking when I went to bed. I don't hear it anymore ... I imagine it's because I acknowledged them and we have decided to peacefully co exist. I have been doing some research into the history of my house. It will be fun to see who/what I uncover!

The paranormal scares the living crap out of me. But yet I am so fasinated at the same time. Honestly..If I ever came face to face with a ghost. I would probably die from fright. Because I always think ghosts are bad and going to hurt me. But I know that isnt true. When my gramps died. I had a little prayer talk to him. I told to please dont scare me. No matter how stupid I got in my addiction or any other time. PLEEEEASE dont pop up anywhere and scare me. LOL..My grams says she is coming back to haunt me. I believe it too.

| Boo! I put this on the newly created social group that Chiy started for us to scare the dickens out of each other. Now, this is true. It's not some story I told around a campfire as a kid. Have any of you ever had an experience or experiences that you felt were ghosts? I have. When my son was not quite two years old, we lived in an apt. building on the third floor. It was during the winter months when some really weird things started happening. First was the fact that when I woke up really early in the morning to go to the bathroom or whatever, I'd sneak a peek at him in his crib. He'd be sound asleep with a blanket covering him up perfectly. He slept on his tummy most of the time and the blanket would be right up to the nap of his neck and kinda tucked ever so slightly around his shoulders. All down the sides, it looked as someone tucked it in around him and under his feet. Strange part was, the blankets were not in his crib when I put him to bed. They weren't even anywhere near his crib. Now, it was just me and Brandon living there. I had thrown his Dad out and the locks had been changed. People thought I was going nuts, so did I. After this happened a few nights in a row, I would make sure that I folded the blankets in his room and put them on the changing table which was in the opposite corner of his bedroom. I didn't put blankets in his crib because he never stayed covered up. He'd kick them off. I had a regular sleeper on him with a onesie and then a blanket sleeper over it. ( I couldn't stand the thought of my baby not being covered.) So there was no need for a blanket. After a few mornings in a row, waking up to him being covered up with a blanket that was on the other side of the room, I started getting freaked. I wondered if his Dad had somehow gotten a key to my apt. I started putting a piece of thread across the door, different things to let me know if someone came in. Nothing. My son had a toy airplane that hung from the ceiling in his bedroom with fishing line. It took two AA batteries. One day he kept coming out into the living room, trying to tell me in his limited language that he wanted the airplane to fly. I tried to explain to him that the batteries were dead and I didn't have any more. How do you explain that to a two year old? I couldn't. This went on for about a half an hour or so. He wanted that plane to fly so bad. Next thing I knew, I heard him in his bedroom squealing with laughter. As I began to walk down the hall towards his bedroom, I heard the buzz of the airplane. It was flying around the room. Now, to get this to fly, you have to turn it on and then throw it in the air and it slowly begins to make the circle that it flies in. This airplane was flying as high as it could, in the perfect circle. It usually took at least 3 - 4 minutes to get to this height. I was shocked. I was so scared to walk into his bedroom but I had to go get Brandon out of there. I grabbed him and ran him into the living room. Then I went into his bedroom to face this airplane. I grabbed it in midair to stop it. Once I got it, I held it in my hand, scared to death. I turned the airplane over and not only was the switch flipped to "on", when I opened the battery door, much to my horror, there were no batteries in it at all. Other things happened. Brandon had this little musical toy that played pretty loud. He loved this stupid thing. I was getting ready to watch my favorite, weekly tv show and he kept wanting me to turn the knob, make it play. I was ready to watch my show so when he set it down to watch a commercial on tv, I put it up on the top shelf in his bedroom. I figured out of sight, out of mind. I went back into the living room so I could watch my show. He was crying, he was looking around for this toy. A few minutes later, out of nowhere, that toy started playing in his bedroom, way up on the top shelf. Only Brandon and I were there. Brandon went through a brief biting stage. I never did that biting him back stuff, I don't think that sends the right message. I would just say,"No! Don't bite!" pretty sternly. One day, he bit me good. I yelled,"No, don't bite!" and I smacked his mouth. It wasn't hard, just enough to stun him. Or so I thought. Next thing I knew, I plate that was sitting on the kitchen table flew across the room, about 20 feet, hit the wall behind the sink and shattered pieces fell all over the counter and into the sink. This was enough. I called the owner of the building the next day. I figured he'd think I was nuts. After making dumb small talk, I asked him if anyone who lived there before me had ever had any weird stuff happen in that apt. What he said next freaked the f*ck out of me. "Oh, is she back?" I froze. I was even more scared than before. What do you mean 'is she back?' He explained to me that the first tennent was a retired music school teacher. She lived there for about 12 years before she died in the apt. The woman lost her husband and son to a car accident many, many years earlier. This is why she took such a special interest in Brandon. He "became" her little boy for awhile. She kept him covered at night, turned on his toys for him when I couldn't or wouldn't and when I smacked his mouth, she let me know that she didn't like it. Her name is/was Gladys. It was suggested to me by someone that I should let Gladys know that she was scaring me. And if I was scared, Brandon would pick up on it and soon he would start being scared. I walked through the apt. several times, holding Brandon in my arms and telling her that she was scaring me. I explained that she didn't have to leave, just stop interfering with my Mothering. Soon, it all stopped. Gladys just let me take care of him from then on.

I use to date this guy when I lived in NC. And when I stayed at his house. For some odd reason. 2 spots in his house always caught my eye. For some reason I always got creeped out looking at those spots. Well this is like a few months after dating and one night we got talking about ghosts. He pops out with he has a farmer ghost in his apartment. I was like dont scare me. He said it's true. He usually hangs out there and there. OMG!! Both the spots I was always looking at. I never told him anything about me looking there alll the time. I didnt go to his house for like a month. Also The same time. We lived in an area where the revolutionary war was faught. I would hear tapping in the ceiling at night like morse code. It freaked me out. I could go all day talking about this stuff.

And i mean loony. LOL I had an experience when I was a kid I'll share on here. I'll post it tomorrow. Does any one watch Ghost Hunters on SciFi channel? I love that show. After that is a show called Destination Truth. That guy looks for weird monsters like Big foot, lock ness monster, etc. I like watching that stuff too.

| Ghost Hunters! Most Haunted! Paranormal State! I would absolutely love to hang out with Jason and Grant and the rest of the folks on Ghost Hunters. They came to Dayton about 6 weeks ago to do a show on some reported hauntings at Wright Patt Air Force Base, which is only a few miles from my house. The article ran in the newspaper the day they were coming. I read it too late. If I remember correctly, the episode is to run in I think May. Watch it, if you look close, in the background to the left you'll see my house, I was up on the roof . . . Just kidding. I have had the feeling many, many times lately that 'someone' is here in my bedroom with me. I will be sitting on the edge of my bed and suddenly it feels like the cat jumped on the bed. I'll turn around to look and realize that the cat is on the floor in front of me. This has happened so many times. It feels like someone just sat down on the bed. The ironic part is, it started right after I brought some things that were left in my Dad's house after he died. Long story, but his wife packed up and moved suddenly without any of us knowing right after he died. I found out in a really messed up way. I contacted the owner of the house that they rented. He told me there were some things left. I went and got a few pretty much insignificant items. That's all that was left. His wife took it all. Even things I made for my Dad over the years. And then there's the mirror my Dad made. Dad loved to do wood working and had made me many things for my home. His last project before he got sick was to gut the bathroom and re do the whole thing. He made the vanity, wall shelves and a gorgous wall mirror out of the same matching oak. When I went to the house that day, it was the only time I saw the bathroom completely finished. I broke down. I remember each day that I talked to Dad, all the time he put into remodeling this bathroom only to not live long enough to enjoy it. The homeowner looked around the bathroom and pointed to the mirror and told me that he felt my Dad would have wanted me to have it. I accepted it with great appreciation and pride. The mirror is hanging right near the entrance to my bedroom, on the wall, right next to my bed.

| Member | Here's my Story
I was trying to find my story last night that i posted on the paranormal forum that i use to belong too. It looks like it was taken off. I wanted to refresh my memory from the peoples comments. Anyway, this happened when I was around 13. I wasn't drinking or into drugs yet. My sister and I shared the same bedroom at that time and lived in a trailer park. This is in upstate NY in the Binghamton area. This happened in the middle of the night when we where sleeping. I happened to wake up and standing next to my bed, looking at me was a Revolutionary war soldier from the British side. I saw his hat on his head and his coat just like the British red coats wore. The scariest part was his face. He had a skeleton face and was grinning his teeth at me where he had no skin. I freaked out so bad and couldn't scream. I closed my eyes again and covered my ears and rocked back and forth on the bed. When I opened my eyes to see if he was still there I saw him floating over to my sister's bed and saw him look down at her. The next day i told my mother and she thinks that it was our Great, great, great, great, great grandfather that did fight on the British side. When I shared this on the paranormal forum, one of the people wrote me back and said that it couldn't have been a relative looking like that. He thinks the person died a tragic death like with a cannon or something and told me to research my area for the war. The major war wasn't up here, but i did see on the Internet that there was a few skirmishes. So, i don't know. All I know is that I will never forget this as long as I live. Even now at the age of 41 I can remember his face vividly. I hope I never see anything like that again either. Barb

Ouija boards are very bad. Dont ever mess with one. Dont even keep one in your house. 9 times out of 10 a menacing spirit will lie and mess with you. Maybe worse. Scaredy cat..I have a story when I use to live in Greensboro NC. The revolutionary war was fought in alot of that area. We lived in a townhouse right on the edge of a park called Battleground park. Because alot of blood shed in that area. Well at night I would hear tapping in the ceiling. Only at night ...But allllll night. I am on the second floor of the townhouse. Noone above us. And no attic. The tapping sounded like morse code. It wasnt a consistant tapping ..It varied in taps and spacing. It was very freaky.

My Dad died young at 56 years old, he went from completely healthy to death in 3 short months from cancer. As I was laying in bed alone one night about a week after he passed, I said my nightly prayers and then asked "Dad if you can hear me please let me know somehow", a couple of seconds later i felt fingers running through my hair, and knew he was with me.

Wow, Trish, something ELSE we have in common My only story is pretty calm. Me, my boyfriend, and my other-mother, Kay (she was mom's best friend) went to mom's grave to put flowers on it and a huge butterfly balloon because she LOVED butterflies. We had a nice "visit" and were heading back to the car, when I looked at the grave. There was not a single breeze blowing, but the butterfly balloon was moving back and forth, like it was waving. We all just stopped in our tracks, and I finally said "wow, she's here", and told her I loved her and the balloon stopped moving. Also, the first Christmas after she died, I went to our church's Christmas eve candlelight service. I was having a very, very hard time and was crying through the whole service. I was sitting with Kay and her family, when I looked at the Christmas tree and noticed a couple of ornaments just fall off. My mom was church secretary and we always laughed about the typos she had in the bulletin. We found a few typos in THAT bulletin and Kay said "don't worry....your mom's here". This past year I went to the first Christmas eve service since that one. It was still hard, but as we were knealing at the communion table, Kay poked me in the side and pointed....right in front of us, on the Christmas tree, were 3 butterflies. Of course, there are all kinds of butterflies in the church...on the communion pews, and a big part of that is mom. But it still gives me warm fuzzy feelings to know she's looking after me. Hugs and prayers! Amy

You live in Upstate NY...I have gotten a couple books from the library called.. Haunted New York. Haunted Saratoga County. Pretty freaky stuff. Alot of the stories are right in my area. Have you heard of Longfellows? That is suppose to be haunted. Use to be an old trading post that sealt in alcohol back before it was leagal. They say alot of people were killed there over what we would call now a days. Deals gone bad. There is a house about a half mile down the road that use to be a brothel a long time ago. That is in one of the books a s being haunted.
