email notifications

Hi MG/Doug

My email notifications (for PMs and the like) seem to be lagging these days...

it can be anything from 4 to (sometimes) 10-12 hours from when I actually receive something to when I get a notification, which kinda defeats the purpose.

From speaking around to others, I know I'm not the only one with this problem. I just wondered if this was known to you.

and...while I'm here, I'm also curious as to the number of database errors recently. They're pretty regular and almost always occur around the same time of day (early evening for me in Australia).

What's up with that?

Thanks guys.
D

They'll answer sometime tomorrow or the next day...when they get your notification.

I've been getting the data base errors also and slow page loads. That might also be what is slowing down the email notifications. I believe the server needs to be upgraded to handle the load. The owners are aware of the problem. I will try to find out more information when I talk to them again.

This is happening to me too. Just started the past few days. I dont get email notification by my choosing. But that data error and the really REALLY slow load is annoying. You know how many posts I have lost because of that.
And me being int he bad mod I have been. I had a huge post all written out and when I clicked submit. It just froxze. Then I got booted. I was livid.
This happened right before the ;ast upgrade too.
I love SR. And a little lag in load time is minor compared to the help and support I get everyday.
But losing those posts really gets me bad.Especially when I was upset alreay and poured my heart out.
I know you all work very hard to make this place what it is.
And I dont have to tlel you how appreciative we all are. You already know that.
So dont take this as a complaint really. Just a "me too" type of thing.
I know it will get worked out eventually.
AGian thx for the hard work you guys do here.

I've been 'copying' my longer posts Trish before I hit 'post'- that way if we do have an error I can just 'paste' my post back in when we come back up
