I had a bad turn after combining codeine (in the form of Panadeine 500mg paracetomol & 15mg codeine). I had 8 tabs a day for 3 days (120mg codeine a day) plus Dozile (a sleeping aid) and drinking 3 nights in row. The 3rd day i felt ok during the day but at night my blood pressure went thru the roof, i was hot and red and very anxious and short of breath. I went to a hospital and they gave me valium and i was better next day. Im never taking codeine for prolonged periods again. What i went thru was horrible and i wouldnt wish it on anyone.

Combining Panadeine and alcohol is a very dangerous thing to do -- it can fry your liver quickly and without much warning. End stage liver failure is a very nasty way to go. Might be a good idea to have a doctor do a liver function test to see if any damage has been done. In the meantime, take better care of yourself, and good luck with your sobriety. Buzz |

emmer...congrats on getting off of the codeine...i agree, one thing at a time...but you should listen to those on here with experience..and maybe seek other doctor's opinions on the subject.... those of you who tapered off of benzos...i've been on xanax for 5 months...i take .25 twice a day, sometimes once...should i be worried??? do i need to taper off of such a small dose??? sorry to hijack your thread, emmer...but pills scare the crap out of me and i'm curious...can't find any info online... |

I'm having a little trouble understanding. I know that effexor has been associated with side effects from withdrawal, but there's no addiction. Just taper the dosage and only your mental state should suffer. seroquel. practically a wonder drug. I've gotten off seroquel numerous times with no effects other than insomnia (the reason I started seroquel in the first place). with low dosages, seroquel causes no noticeable negative effects in me. no pleasure, no addiction, no ringing in my ears. benzos? yeah, I've been on and off benzos numerous times. I've heard of hypothetically possible side effects, but most are embellished. the only real trouble I experienced was the mental infatuation. what scam can I use to get it? how many more days until I stop feeling so desperate? I got news for you: desiring something that's pleasurable does NOT count as a withdrawal symptom. wanna quit benzos? just quit. roll a few doobs. either way, lorazepam sure helped me get past the first 2 weeks of oxy withdrawal. |
