Don S and/or Alera......... Can you advise me how to best approach reading and practicing SMART RECOVERY? I have visited the site - but get totally confused as to how to get started - I find it is a bit difficult to follow the logic of the site. I am really interested in SMART, Rational Recovery etc Which do you think is the easiest to undertake and which one explains the programme? If you can give any guidelines - I will be so grateful. DWI is also interested. We both seem to get a bit over-whelmed by the layout of the site and the huge amount of material that there is. For myself - I have attended AA and found a ton of information and help there - but a few things just didnt sit right with me at all. I would like something that I can access when I feel the need - when I am feeling low or tempted.................. maybe S.R. can give me the tools to deal with sudden situations etc. It would seem to me to be a good idea to be able to access help at the touch of a button. I know nothing about SR but am really interested in giving it a go. Any help would be so appreciated. Woops |

Hi, I started by doing a cost benefit anaysis. Then you may want to read up and do a ABC. Also, I found the manual itself to be very very helpful - many of the worksheets are in there as well. I just printed all the tools out and put them in a notebook. If you have more questions after that, let me know. Sorry for the short response, I'm down sick with a mild case of flu.
