While there, we all had to take a series of tests, BUT, when they gave me, (and I assume most of the other people as well, I don't remember ), the tests, I was still EXTREMELY DOPED up from all the meds they give you (phenobarbital, can't think of the other one right now), but extremely out of it, I remember, it was SO hard to take the test, because I couldn't even SEE, I had to look at the sheets with only ONE eye open, or I couldn't read at all. Now, how do you think did?? Ya know, to tell you the truth, I never even asked. I thought it was such a joke, to give someone a test, when they couldn't even read what was on it, that I really didn't want to know how I scored,.. I can't imagine it was all that good. I do believe it was also a Personality test, along with a few others. Ya know I do remember that I didn't finish hardly any of it though, that I remember.. Thanks,, Prayers to you,, Becky

| A klonopin addict here
I'm a klonopin addict ...my former idiot doc put me on 13 mg klonopin daily. That stuff ruined my life. I have been clean from that stuff for almost three months. IMHO the benzo is the worst of the bunch! 13mg=260mg valium each day. I also got off 230mg codeine daily and stopped abusing anti psycotics and I also went from 300mg effexor xr to 37.5mg in the last little while. I have to say effexor is a brutal withdrawl, not as bad as klonopin but none the less, bad! I feel like I've been thru hell x 2. I want to use something really bad...anything. I am hanging on clean 8 days though. .....Joe |

Joe, that's a pile of bad dope you were on. Hang in there and be careful with it. I'm hoping that you did some kind of taper off that crap. If you are at 8 days just hold on. Keep us posted on your progress. Remember that when you go back you'll only have to kick it again. Not worth it.

Wow, unless I am missing something, your doc is an idiot with a big E. That is a huge amount. Of course, in my younger days, I couldn't tell the difference in affect between one tab and seven. How long were you on that dose? | |

Unbelievable. Joe, good luck, and keep posting. Klonopin is a hard drug to stay off. W/d is a real bitch and can last a long time, but there is a lot of good information in this thread, and on the internet that you can utilize.

My tinnitus seems either to be diminished or less bothersome to me. Actually, it is even inaudible sometimes, if there at all during this time. All this and I am having a little caffeine, too. Am I better, or am I just getting a break before round 2 or 3 (whatever round it is). I still have a bottle of Xanax in the medicine cabinet that I kept in case of panic attacks. I may even toss that now, too. It is not a temptation, but I don't want it to become one. |

meditation is an excellent tool. panic attacks can actually be caused by hitting tolerance while on those damned benzos. if it were me i'd throw them away. i can't have crap like that lying around the house. the temptation is too great.

Wow Joe....I can relate to the effexor withdrawl. I have been on aniti depresents for 6 years and every time i try to come off it just kills me( weird electrical nerve shocks) Had been using/abusing clonazapam to so called come off of alcahol.Well i went into a recovery home and had quit every thing exept the effexor. Week 2 of being clean i slept mabye 6 hours total. Developed terible "there out to get me's" witch led to sycosis with led to a special ward in the hospital witch led to clonazipam and Risperidal........sigh! well at least i think i am off the booze. No cravings and it has been 4 weeks. I don't want to go back to that padded place. Never had any history of that before and i hope it was an acute exsperience. I fear coming off these drugs now again. http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...elf-91186.html

At 10 months off of ativan I am hanging in there I have been walking 2 miles a day to help me feel better. It seem to be working! Exercise is my medicine. I had to force myself the first week, after that I craved it. I get like a runner high and some relief. Thanks for asking how are you? |

Everything good here. I have the lung crud pretty bad and I have to go see a doc today for steroids and breathing treatments. I think it is bronchitis and it sure hurts like hell. I'm happy that both of y'all are doing so well. So many out there just can't get off the crap and they just end up dying. Keep up the good work and never go back to the junk. Your stories are inspirational.

My benzo story is such a nightmare that after, almost three months off them. I'm still so messed up that I don't even want to recall all of it. But basically they worked well for a few weeks then addiction set in and then after months of mega klonopin my life got shot all to hell. I will share more when I can. |

They are very sneaky because they don't really get you high (in moderate doses, anyway); and they facilitate the feeling that nothing is wrong; not even taking them. Then, down the road, you realize everything about you has changed, and many things are wrong. You suspect it has something to do with the drugs, maybe you even know it. But it is only when you try to stop taking them (inter-dose and tolerance w/d aside) that you start to fully understand the nature of the beast. Share what you can / want, just read when you can't / don’t want to. This is the right place for you to be right now. |

What RUN said. I hope you feel better, too. Being the selfish SOB I am sometimes, I neglected to reply to your lung condition in your last post. Me, me, me, you know. Anyway, I hope it is only bronchitis.

benzos really do suck. you build up a tolerance to them very quickly, also if you stop all of a sudden you can have a seizure or die I heard, osyou have to 'wean' yourself off of them. stay away! although i got some L-Theanine, it's a extract from green tea, but it acts similar to a benzo, it gives a mild relaxing feeling, probably should stay away if you are recovering benzo addict, but otherwise seems to be a descent alternative. |
