| What did You learn today?
:sunani Happy Thanksgiving. I was wondering what some of you may have learned today about your expectations of the holiday and what actually happened. I ask this because I went to take dinner to my Mom at the nursing home for her, my Dad and myself. I was really dreading it as Mom has some mental health issues that make our relationship a strain at times. However, I was pleasently surprised that we had a nice time, good food ( if I do say so myself) and very benign conversation. ( Translation--no arguements, no whining, no complaining!) I discovered that I need to not expect the worst. I think my HP was showing me in this that He is still in control and cares and loves me so much that He set up a nice day where being thankful was not so hard to be! What did you discover today ? :e17n

{{{Dawn}}} That is wonderful news and I'm so happy you got to have that today!!! It is times like that that leave us with a contented smile plastered on our face for days afterwards!!! ![]() My experience from today was that even though we didn't have a huge home cooked feast with family and friends gathered round {everyone pretty much did "their own thing" this year!}, it really didn't seem to matter much because we were together and thankful for each other! Ohh, and no dirty dishes for me!! {LOL!} Much love and {{HUGS}} Jane |
