If it is not one thing it is another. Now my baby has jundice and has to be in the hospital until atleast mon. I hate this. It must be bad cuz the number was 19 and they said if it gets to 25 he has to be shipped to la crosse and have a tranfusion. I have to leave him there too. I hate being without him. Things were going great otherwise. My sis is very depressed tho, thinking of suicide, I am so mad at her. It has only been 2 weeks since my kid's dad killed himself and 8 yrs since my dad and now she is going to! I cant help but be mad at her. I hope and pray that she gets the help she is needed. I am now able to get off strict drug supervison. Not as many uas and going to the doc once a week, out of town. Now, I can stay in town, thats awesome, since I have been clean since aug. 1st! I hope everybody will pray again for my son. I hope this is the last time, it seems like a dream. My kids are afraid that logan isnt coming back cuz their dad is gone, puppy and now the baby will be gone for a couple of days. When will this all end. My puter was fixed for a day and than crashed, the warrantry is off and the only person who can fix it is my x and I am not calling him. I am at the library right now. I hope and pray this is the last bad thing for a while! Everybody have a good day!

Oh Alycia, I'm sorry you have to leave the baby in the hospital. I'm sure not a dr but I think jaundice is fairly common in babies and I'm sure he'll be fine. He gets bigger and stronger each day. I'm sure it must be hard for your kids with so many losses right now, but they'll be so excited when the baby comes home. I hope you get your computer fixed and that things settle down for you!

Alycia, My oldest daughter had jaundice too and had to stay in the hospital. It was sad but she got better quick. I will keep Logan in my prayers.

Alycia, I am sure it is scary to have your brand new baby in the hospital. But, I can assure you that he is going to be OK. I am a former Pediatric nurse who cared for MANY babies with jaundice over 20 years of my career. Usually, they all do very well. They get to sunbathe under that ultra violet light, eat, sleep and poop! That is what you want--for him to make such a grand mess. That is how his body will get rid of the excess bilirubin that is making him yellow. Hang in there, and reassure your other kids their little brother is coming home! :eo1a Dawn

I agree completely with Dawn. All three of my kids had it and got over it very quickly. Quentin, my 1 year old, had it. He also had surgery when he was 2 days old. He had a hole in his small bowel and had to have a temporary ostomy.Since then he's had 2 more. He looked so sad laying there hardly able to move with that bag on. But after only a couple of days of him laying under the sun lamp with those cute little shades on he was much better. Now he is unstoppable. Crawling(he's still scared to let go although he can stand alone) everywhere, climbing on everything. Perfect ball of energy. Try to not worry too much. I know anytime you have a baby in the hospital you can't help but to worry. Rest assured that this is very common in babies and he will come out of it just fine |

jaundice is very common in infants, i know it is impossible not to worry but intellectually you have to just tell yourself that it will be ok. keep your head up and stay strong for other babies. keep posting.

I know how popular jaudice is but it was so scary to take him back to the hospital. He got out on sat, and weighed 4lbs 15ozs. The doc says he is only kind of worried and to bring him in today or tomorrow to be weighed. I am also giving him some formula with breast at night, I love to breast feed, too. He's so beatiful, hes smiling right now, i know it is just gas tho. We got our puppy back, he was stolen and sold for $100, atleast someone had a kind heart and brought him back. Well, gtg change a stinky diaper, bye peeps!

So happy to hear that Logan is home and pooping! That is a good thing. Did you ever think you would find that "fun"? He is a tiny little peanut, but he is going to grow faster than you can blink an eye. Enjoy him and give him a few kisses for us here on SR!

Logan is home! So glad to hear that. I call him the "SR baby" because he's the first baby born since I've come on the boards. So glad he's doing better. Please know both of you have been in my thoughts this past weekend.
