Hi Magda
Pat yourself on the back for getting back to day 1 vs. day 0! That was an option, and you chose well!
Well done!
Keep it up!

Learn to love yourself Magdam. Addiction is 99% mind-game in my opinion...and i'm still learning how to play...we all are. I've been finding this site real good: http://www.psychologyhelp.com/book.htm.

True happiness CAN be yours.

I don't know what you method is for quitting...or if you even have a method. Almost all the people I know who have successfully quit replaced the old behavior (i.e. doing drugs) with something new (i.e. AA/NA meetings, exercise or a combination of things). If you quit and just hope for the best those cravings will bite you in the ass before the day is out. The void that quitting leaves behind must be filled.

That is so true, spirit30! Very well put! With our addictive personalities, it's a great idea to replace drugs with something more positive and less destructive. I'd definitely say I'm addicted to my NA meetings and new circle of friends I've met in recovery. It's so incredibly helpful to have such support surrounding me.

Magda, prayers going your way, friend. We're with ya!

MagdaM, I'm new here, I don't know what you are quitting, but if you can't do it today-then like you said, try again. Best wishes, Cate.

Hey Mega my name is Vic and you have contacted me before even if you don't remember that is ok. I am a junkie like some who are here, and no it is not easy but it is doable. I know I have went from a 2,000 dollar a week down to none. I still today don't know how I had the money for dope, and yet I am always broke today, that just blows my mind. I know that if I can do this thing you can also, we are no different except in the drugs we choose to do. I don't think that any are worse than the others but my ex consolor said that pot smokers are the hardest to teach. I have to do a lot of thing different today, read that NA book, go to meetings, get and use a sponsor, don't use no matter what, and of course out tools of the program and work the steps. Plus I do morning readings everyday, Day by Day for recovering addicts, One day at a time, plus a lot on the internet too. So I just want to let you know that if you want help, I am here but I can not make you do the deal, you have to do it yourself. Vic

please remember you should always put the same energy into "the program" as you put into using and after you have a bit of sobriety under your belt, it WILL get easier, I promise...you can do this, WITH HELP. When you slip, just dust yourself off and try again. In the NA book they say that there is no shame in relapsing, the shame is in not coming back to the program.
Please take care, my heart goes out to you...

yeah, what Dana said (cos she says it sooo well). Just keep coming back.

Remember what energy you would expend to go get some junk? Just try to use that same determination and time in pursuing recovery. It can work!

I'm back I'm back! My mom came for the weekend lol

Magda it is sooo normal to think of your drug of choice when hearing love songs! Not good, but normal. Try not to listen to those songs that lead you to think about using because it just feeds your desire. It's nearly impossible to get off of heroin alone, even with us here, you need medical help or a close sober friend to stay with while you sober up. I will keep you in my prayers, and remember, you can't go through life actively using if you want to live.
