| My name is Tanya, I'm on day 6 of being sober. It's all been really hard and I want to just go back to my old ways so bad. That voice in my head keeps telling me "just one more time" I attened my first Na meeting tonight. It was really hard to get myself to walk through the doors, I wanted to just turn around and walk back out. My body is starting to go through withdraws and I'm "craving" that high. Any suggestions on what I could do to stay clean? I'm needing all the support I can get. |

Keep going to those meetings.Go every day.Try and get a sponsor ASAP.The cravings are tough at first, but they do pass.Hang in there and one day at a time,do not get high no matter what. One hour at a time if nessesary. Also, when you go to your meetings get phone #s from the other women and use them! Call someone if you think you are going to use.I know that phone can weigh 5oo lbs,but it gets a little lighter each time. And keep posting here at SR.

congrats on day 6, tanya!! and on walking through that door. did u get any phone numbers at that meeting? if you didn't, go to another and get some, if you did, use them. picking up that phone can be hard too, but it will be worth it. is there any one already in your life you can talk to about what you're going through? company helps. talking helps. and if ur sick, company and talking and hot baths and good movies help. Good luck tanya! (hope this helps!)

Hi Tanya and welcome! Congrats on the 7-days!!! Here are a few things that helped me during that first couple of weeks...Take time for yourself, get your rest, eat healthy and hydrate, exercise {even if its just a walk around your yard or livingroom!}...I also found that watching upbeat, "feel good" movies helped as did doing crossword puzzles to keep my mind focused. Best wishes, Jane |

I had a relapse now I'm back at 6 days sober. I started outpatient rehab on Thursday, I like it so far but making this change is going to be hard and I have a long road of battles ahead of myself. I could use all the support possable. Thank you! <!-- / message --> |

Look at all the negatives your using has created, and don't glorify the "good times". Like someone told me in early recovery... "get mad at your addiction and what it's done to you". Keep doing the outpatient, be honest with yourself and others, and keep going to NA meetings. Meetings, get a sponsor, say a prayer, and don't pick up... no matter what! You can't say no to drugs, but together we can. Prayers.
