Its Been A Week..and I Have Already Screwed Up...i Got Off Meth And Did Ok For A Couple Of Days..then I Slipped..but Im Getting Back On The Horse...can Anybody Suggest Anything Besides The Obvious..maybe Im Looking For A Miracle...maybe I Just Have To Go Through It???

Hi Danielle,welcome to SoberRecovery.Sorry,I dont have any miracle answers for you.I recommend NA meetings,getting a sponsor,and working the steps.Give that a try and stick around,work the steps and before you know it you just might see the real miracle happen.

My name is George. I'm on meth too. I get dosed at 140mg a day. I'm still feeling withdrawal symptoms in the mornings. But they wont let me go up on my dose because I pissed dirty for benzodiazepines. But now I NEED them because they raised my tolerance for the meth. In other words: If I don't take them everyday, I'll get sick as a dog. Now I'm addicted to them too. It's terrible. But maybe I can help you.

Try getting into a 3 to 4 day buprenorphine clinic or something like that. I don't know how high ur dose of meth was so i dont know if bup will work for you. reply to me and ill talk to you more about it.

hi Danielle I'm Trish I have been off methadone for 31 days now , I too am looking for answers. now don't get me wrong I feel better than I did the first two weeks but it is still very bad. I found a doctor that gave me xanax for the first few weeks to help me get back on a sleep scedule the hardest part for me is haveing no energy. My doctor just ordred some blood work to make sure nothing else is wrong. But, to tell you the truth the people I have talked to said the lathargy can last for months. But I want you to think of one thing. In just a few short months you can be free and not controlled by a drug. Or you could be right back where you were. It is worth it I know it is and believe me if I can do it so can you. Talk to everyone, anyone about it. Make sure you have people around . All i wanted to do was crawl under the covers and die but you can't. you have to get up everyday get your butt in the shower if nothing else. try to do something more everyday. you want be able to everyday ( at least I can't But i sure do try. If you want to talk I am here for you......Trish

I Just Started To Cry Reading Your Response..thankyou For The Time...im Very Upset At Myself For Slipping Up..but I Know In My Heart I Can Do This...the Forced Showers Suck!!!! I Can Attest..i Was So Confident That When I Got Off Meth Life Would Change..i Skipped The "after" The Meth Part And Said Yeah Ill Do This...maybe I Should Not Have Been Sooo Confident..ya Know?? I Have Some Xanax..they Help..your Right!! I Think Im Just Craving "normalcy" Whatever Normal Is??? And I Want It Yesterday..did You Feel That Way??

I Was On 70mgs.and Over 2 Years I Went Down Then I Hit A Financial Detox Off 20 Mgs. So I Shouldnt Be Whining But Its Still Hell!!!!!!!

I think everyone I have ever talked to about this feel this way. Especially as addicts we love instant gratification but after using for years it takes a while to feel normal again. Eventually you will though and it's worth the wait. Time without drugs in your system is the key there.

Hi & welcome Danielle,
Methadone is a NASTY one,it's the worst drug to get clean of,boy,if I knew now what I didn't know then,I never wouldv'e taken them.I tried to detox on my own,but it's the worst thing in the world,I thought I was gonna die.So I decided to go to a 5 day detox and found suboxone,I never wouldv'e made it without it.I started out on a lower dose and after 3 weeks weaned off.That wasn't long enough because I was still havin methadone w/d,I had severe anxiety and couldn't sleep,I kept this up for 11 days(non stop anxiety)until I had a severe attack,passed out & was rushed to the hospital.My DR put me on Ativan 1mg every 6 hrs.I still have w/d and slight anxiety but I'm getting better each day!
So in my opinion talk to a DR,it's so very hard to do it on your own!!
I'll keep you in my prayers and let us know how things go!!

I'm not sure how this forum got off on methadone... but I understand you are a crystal addict. I want you to know there are thousands of recovered crystal addicts now in the USA. There are many ways to get sober, stay sober and have a wonderful life.

The primary recovery group for crystal addiction is Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA), crystalmeth.org. Founded over 10 years ago by some of the origonal people from NA in Los Angeles, CMA has helped many and now has meetings all accross the USA and it is growing into other countries.

If you cannot find a CMA group near you, both AA and NA are good alternatives. Yes these are all 12 step groups, but they do work. Millions of people have recovered because of 12-step groups. Miracles happen in 12-step groups everyday. Please go - do the obvious - be your own miracle.

My name is Julie, and I've been off methadone for almost 5 months. I detoxed using Ibogaine. It took away a lot of the withdrawal symptoms, but not all. I still felt chills, aches and lethargy, but they were minor.
