| Back from heroin detox!
As well as alcohol detox and a few other minor things. Feeling mainly OK about it...kinda releived but 'empty' without it...the days seem weeks long and I have NOTHING to do! I'd moan and bitch about how terible withdrawals were...but this is my 3rd time and it was nothing shocking...except puking so much my heart went funny and I had to be put on an IV. Blah. Did some coke today...without H and the drink I realised how fat I look (I have eating disorders, so, yeah...) and I wanted to supress my appetite. Now I'm kind of mad at myself...even though I never had a big problem with coke...it still feels like some kind of failure. |

Hi Richey, A drug is a drug is a drug is a drug. I relapsed on alcohol after 5 years of being clean from crystal meth because I was a drug addict and not an alcoholic so I thought. The substance is merely a symptom of the problem. The problem is within us and asks the question as to why we need something to not feel, or for something to do. Why can't we just sit with ourselves without mind altering substances changing the way we feel? I do know from experience that the recovery from Heroine and alcohol will never make sense to you without being clean from all drugs. When you are clean from all the drugs for a while everything will begin to fall into place. It takes time and it's not easy by any means. Thanks for sharing with us and keep posting.

Do not be confused about alcohol. Alcohol Is a drug. Do you know what you have if you take the water out of alcohol ? Ether- Ethel alcohol. People whom drink alcohol are using Ether. Just give that a thought. Love & Respect Logo

My son was clean from heroin for almost 8months after a program he went through in prison. Then, while on methadone, and unable to get high from heroin, he tried coke, although, like you, he never really liked it. He quickly went back to heroin, after spending methadone money on coke. He quickly went back to stealing, living on the street, having warrents for his arrest and looking like death's door was there with him. He is in very bad shape. He is going to detox again tomorrow. Please don't kid yourself. You are dealing with death. A drug is a drug is a drug. You will use the coke, and revert very quickly back to the heroin. Get help now, please...before it's too late. ONly you can do this; and discover why you need drugs to live. The 12 steps are a good path in that discovery... Shalom!
