What should I do to help my boyfriend

My boyfriend used to be a cocaine addict before enrolling in the service. He did it in 2003 and he did it again on october and november 2004. He is getting out of the military for this. I don't know how to help him, how to behave around him, what kind of environment he needs and stuff like that. I never did drugs and I don't have experience in how to help him. Please advise.

Suggest that he goes to Narcotics Anonymous.

Look after yourself by seeking out your local Nar-Anon meetings and visit the Nar-Anon board on this forum.

Hi urdaddy, welcome to Sober Recovery! There are alot of wonderful people here in the same boat you are in. Have you been on the NARANON Board yet? It's for friends and family of addicts. My BF doc is Heroin and it took me awhile to figure out what addiction really meant. There is alot of information in the power posts at the top of the NARANON forum, please read them. I am sorry that you are in this situation but please know that you didn't cause it, you can't control it and you can't cure it. You cannot lovesomeone into recovery, they have to find it on their own,but their are things you can do for you so that you donot get sucked into the chaos addiction can bring.
