I don't have anyone to talk to about this kind of stuff, so i found this website. My boyfriend has an addiction to pain killers, methadome, and cocaine.

Just wondering if anyone else is going through this. He leaves tomorrow for a second drug treatment facility, this one is in Chicago

Hi Nicole,
Welcome to the forum.

You will undoubtably find people here who have been through or are going through what you are experiencing.

Good news that your boyfriend is going into rehab. I am guessing that this must be throwing up all kinds of emotions for you though. This is a very supportive place to talk about all of that. Have a look in on the Nar-Anon section on this board.

Better yet, find some Nar-Anon meetings in your area!

You can't make your boyfriend do anything he doesn't want to do. All you can do for him is hope and pray that he "gets it" while in rehab.

You on the other hand need to deal with youself. Nar-Anon will help you to deal with his using, your feelings, et cetera.

It's a beautiful program. My mother and wife went to meetings when I was getting clean. Needless to say I can't put anything past them now. Those Nar-Anon folks gave them my numbers real quick

Hi Nicole, welcome to Sober Recovery! My bf is the addict in my life too, his DOC is heroin/cocaine. It has been a hell of a a ride since he relapsed a year ago. Please check out the NARANON board and take in as much info you can. I did not have anyone to talk too either when I found out and finding this website was a God send for me. You are not alone and your in the right place which is a good step and be proud of your BF for making the effort to go into treatment. Stick around and make yourself comfy! Hugs!
