This thread is falling off the radar. Need to revive it. I know my music selections suck and this song has like a 1:20 build up, but Type O and Peter Steele really resonate with me - yes this song is crazy, BUT GOOD!!

LYRICS!

First to admit I’m a doomed droog addict
And I always will be hey man, don’t follow me
No excuses for drug abuse
Said these lines a thousand times
Don’t want to live atrial fib from neurosis, cerosis

Please make me smile if you learn from my trial
Baby I’ll pay the price maybe saving your life for ya
I can’t state this point enough
The pickup’s easy, but the put down’s rough
Up the nose or tap a vein no one else but you to blame

I can’t believe I died last night, Oh God I’m dead again
I can’t believe I died last night, I’m ******* dead again

Chemical joy turning thee paranoid
Recently buried deep(ly) Greenwood Cemetery
I had no pulse last time I checked
I’d trade my life for self respect
There are some things worse than death

I can’t believe I died last night, Oh God I’m dead again
I can’t believe I died last night, I’m ******* dead again

More Creed. Yeah many people think they are a joke of a band, but as far as recovery goes they are probably at the top of my list. Screw what people say anyway right????

Okay so I cannot support this thread alone anymore. It is collapsing under its own weight. Either throw me a bone and post some good tunes OR LET IT DIE a slow and painful death. Thanks Jim for getting the ball rolling, but as they say all good things must come to an end! Or do they.

This song is not exactly recovery, but dam if TOOL is not in the top 3 greatest bands ever (I say that a lot - there are like 20 bands in my top 3, but TOOL is in there 90% of the time). The GRUDGE - all about holding a grudge and what it might do to you. I dig it, but hey I should have been committed years ago. Still sober though so I got that going for me which is nice!!!

Ask and you shall receive. Well crap this song FEELS like anti-rehab, but I guess just like Amy Winehouse there is truth in this song. I think there is a lot of recovery in there just have to understand where dude is coming from. SOB give me a drink (or a drug). We have all said that a time or two or million!!

My heart was aching, hands were shaking, bugs were crawling all over me - sounds GREAT!

No, you aren't the only one....Love the lyrics to that song.....Also love the Nine Inch Nails version, too.....Don't know if anyone likes Korn, but have been listening to the acoustic version of "Freak On A Leash" a lot, too.

Here I am again - wearing out my welcome. I am a big Howard Stern fan - don't hold it against me. Sia was on again a few weeks ago. She is so amazing - around 5 1/2 years sober now and talks freely about her struggles with Addiction AND Mental Illness. One of the reasons she decided to mainly write songs for others (like over 100 and many of them big hits - Rhianna, Beyonce, Brittany Spears just look it up). So yes this song is well known, but has a different meaning when you understand where she is coming from. Go ahead call me a wimp! I dare you!! Hope everyone is well - keep on keeping on. I am just working crazy hours raising 3 kids - I would be so done if I picked up a drink or a drug!!!! ENJOY!!!

Here comes the shame, here comes the shame .....

Oh so you went there Kzaug!!!! No need to preface it with I am a rocker OR I like Korn and Tool. It is just DAM GOOD music! It comes in all forms and we don't have to convince anyone we are HARD or SOFT right???

So let me say I have a HARD SHELL, but am SOFT in the middle!!!
