How do you celebrate your clean time?

When I hit a year of being off benzos I celebrated by going out to eat. When I hit 100 days sober from alcohol I got Starbucks. I should probably celebrate 7 months from weed.

What do you do and how do you celebrate your recovery goals?

No celebration yet only 6m and still dealing with the aftermath so can't personally celebrate as I've not turned it round yet. When i am there will celebrate - probably do something cheesy like buy a nice Tag watch.

For 30 years I celebrated at an AA meeting. I felt it was a responsibility for me to do that. Giving back, and showing that the program really works. This is the first year I'm going to not do it, as I never actually enjoyed doing it (it's really uncomfortable for me), and I feel it's time I have one for me . I do think it's a good thing to acknowledge and honor our achievements. Gongrats!

Interesting thought. I'd not considered celebrating milestones, per se. I kind of see every day sober as a celebration of my sobriety in a way. I figure that just not drinking is doing myself a kindness.

This year for my 25th Sobriety Anniversary,
I will pick me up a chip in Sturgis during
their 75th Rally. 2 yrs ago I picked up one
there at the Central Office while we were
riding amongst all those awesome motorcycles.

I treat myself to top shelf coffee. It's an enjoyable indulgence, and I figure with the hundreds and hundreds saved already from alcohol an 18 buck pound of coffee every couple of weeks is a good deal.
I've made small purchases here and there- things to celebrate 100 days, and recently, 6 months.

I get manicures and pedicures for the smaller milestones for the bigger ones like my year sober, I wrote letters thanking the people who helped me. It reminded me of all the work I did and all the help I received.
I also bought myself some new clothes that I have never worn to a place where I misused alcohol so no bad memories in them.

I've done different things - fancy dinner out at 90 days, pedicures, bought myself something fun a couple of times. For my seven month, which was Saturday, I'm going to go for another nice dinner out - when I'm off house arrest (for DUI's) next week. Double celebration! I like marking milestones. I'm proud of my accomplishment!
