Jon- You misunderstood me. What I said was I hope(in the worst way) to find an alternative to Ultram because I know it's a dangerous narcotic. Secondly, yes, my doctor is credentialed as an addiction specialist and belongs to ASAM (I go to her office right at the hospital, which, by the way is one of the best in not only the country, but the world). Lastly, 7 years ago when I started taking ultram for pain(and was emphatically told it was non-addictive), it was touted as an ibuprofen like drug, but with less side effects-believe it or not!!At that time, the "makers" of Ultram did not have that insert in it's drug profile leaflet. The FDA demanded they put it in a few years ago. I remember when it first came out-it came in these sample boxes. I still have the leaflets. The doctor gave me so many boxes they had to give me bag. I understand and can appreciate your stance that we, alone are responsible for what we put into our bodies, and when you are talking about powerful addictive medications-there is no place for flippancy. I can assure you, that at least as far as I'm concerned-and I can only speak for myself-Ultram is an addictive potent drug-one that I happened to be addicted to. My goal is to find an alternative to this pill. I'm trying. I battle this beast every day. But, I'm not giving up. Did you read any of my other posts? I think you will find I am the last person to be a proponent of using ultram as an anti-depressant. That's why I am here. For support, because I know I'm sick. Ultrapped7 |
