I took the inner-tube downriver and just trusted in yer lucky charms.

Man, that really sucks @ss. A whole summer with your leg casted up. Go to Drypros' web site if you're looking for a cast cover so you can still go on your boat (and get a shower) with your cast on. For about 40 dollars, they have one that covers the whole leg. I haven't ever broken anything, so I've never used one, but I hear they work.

surgery is postponed til next thursday. leg is too swollen and i got those fracture blisters on my skin. hurts pretty bad but maintaining the dosage with the wife holding them under lock and key. so far, so good. still sucky though.

(((((windy)))) Sorry to hear the surgery got postponed and you're not feeling comfortable.
I don't know much about broken bones. Does ice help? Have you tried hypnosis? It's pretty easy to learn and I think you can find stuff online. A friend of mine is allergic to novocaine yet had a root canal while under hypnosis.

3am and the pain woke me up. these pills don't seem to be working very well or the level of pain is just high. wish i could take of this stupid splint thing but i can't. i'm so dang tired my eyes are crossed. i sure wish i didn't have a week more to wait for the surgery. this is kinda driving me crazy.

Hope you've gone back to sleep by now - being tired makes everything worse. Remember how bad it was getting clean - and you got through that. Keep practicing self-care, and tell yourself this won't last forever. I'm really sorry for your pain, Windy.

Windy, You can make it through this. I feel like as addicts, there comes a time that we are put to the 'test'. This may be your 'test'. I'm sorry about the pain you're in, but you're tough and you'll get through it. As I said before, my son had a spiral fracture to his tibia, and he was in a cast for about 5 months...no surgery. I hope you won't be in a cast for that long.

I'm a little better this morning. Must've been the 3 hours sleep. LOL. One good thing about getting plates and screws installed is that I don't have to wear a cast in Louisiana Summer. I'll wear a splint thing for 2-3 weeks then a boot I can take off. I'll be able to swim and soak my laig in the hot tub. Can't wait to get to the beach....broke laig and all.
