One week ago I hurt my shoulder and while I was in the er they gave me a percocet and I thought well it's just one and im in the er so everything should be ok. Well as usual I thought wrong, because before I knew it I was on the phone with my old dealer getting more and was using again. Four days ago I got back on the wagon and am still there, I am very weak still and have to be careful about pills even if I do get hurt.

Well, welcome back. pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get to a meeting if you like meetings. Time to pick up a 24-hour chip, and maybe, a sponsor. It's Okay, happens to the best of us. Good job telling on yourself. KJ |

It's a good thing that you got right back up instead of letting it turn into a longer relapse. You immediately recognized it and got right back into recovery. You can grow past this. Hang in there and keep moving forward. |

I always told docs no dope when I had some kind of procedure done. I did get an angiogram though and got a poke of versed and an opiate. I got the warm crusty and nodded off to sleep. Woke up later not wanting any more. Strongest dope I've gotten for anything over the pat 5.5 years was Ultram and it did help with the pain and didn't get me high. I tell my docs up front that if they have to do it then they can get me high at the office but absolutely no doggy bags to take home. My old dope man died a couple years ago and even before then he honored my request to not sell to me. I'm sure I coulda scored if I wanted but I didn't want to score. I guess I'm just chicken and that's good.

I've had IV or a shot of pain meds sometimes but no meds to go home. Torodol has been a Godsend for me. I've had a few run ins with medical issues since getting clean and I'm always honest and let them decide from there what to do.
