Windy ~ I'm thinking a relocation strategy sounds like a great idea!! Beautiful place to visit...but I'm glad my daughter decided not to move there. I wish you a milder storm than they anticipate.

I think it'll turn and go to the FL panhandle. We're going to Miramar Beach for Labor Day Weekend. LOL. No big deal though....Cat 3 is a wussy.

For folks in the lower areas of New Orleans it ain't too early. Traffic will start to snarl, gas lines will be huge, groceries run out, pain in the butt. I'm across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans in a burb on high ground so today is fairly normal over here....grocery stores and gas stations are busy. That's the thing with hurricanes...sometimes you wait until the last minute with everybody else and then everybody tries to get out at the same time. Crying kids, barking dogs in the car, stuck on the interstate for 10 hours. Not fun. Panic time for me will be late sunday, early monday. I'll be in Florida kicking back on the beach watching the surfer girls. YAY !!

I'm hauling ass too. During Ivan I waited too late and it took me 14 hours to get to Alexandria, LA (normally a 5 hour drive) only to find that they lost my reservation. Had to drive another 200 miles into TX to get a hotel.

During Katrina I stayed here. We had it mild compared to MS and LA but I am never doing that again.

I have just bumped my move up half a day. Was gonna move back to CT for school on Friday, but oops, turns out all of NOLA may be driving out then. I'd like to skip that mess if possible.

Never been in a hurricane, hope to keep it that way. Those black x's are still on a lot of houses here... creepy creepy.

It's a tight little cyclonic. I hope Miramar Beach doesnt come to you!

I love that whole gulf coast area. I hope it starts to lose energy.

OTOH, Thanks for the rain Florida. - signed Tennessee.

I miss this will trade ya spots windy!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was the crazy one sitting on the beach drinking my glass of vodka watching the storm come in and it was always too late to leave for me because I would wait until it hit to leave, now here I am sober as a 2x4 and chewing my nails begging my brother to bring my nephews home for the weekend (they are in gulf port) because he just had surgery on his neck and only out of the hospital for 3 days!!!!
I miss my time on the beaches watching the storms roll in it is so calming but more than that I realize now I was too busy playing with my life to live it.....

Just be safe Windy your a good friend to have around and we dont want ya blowing away on us! BE SAFE and remember to get water at least it is gona get worse before it gets better.......I am just praying it stays a tropical storm or it loses intensity!
we dont need another big one hitting and of the gulf beaches right now!!!!

LOVE AND HUGS,
Pamm
