Mellowed Out - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

A lot of you know my story already so I'm not going to post that again but at work today I noticed something kind of cool. Since I've been off oxy's I seem to have dramatically mellowed out. Is this normal? I mean, I can understand people can get edgy when the w/d's start, but while I was using there were times when I was a nervous wreck at work before withdrawals were even noticeable.

I work as a Radio Shack Sales Assoc. so I'm constantly dealing with difficult people and long lines at certain times. In the past I'd always get edgy, bitchy and generally irritable and nervous at these times. Now, I feel as if I just go with the flow. I'm still feeling a bit wierd being there (thats the depression I think), but I can handle it. My head feels clearer now and I can think a bit better on my feet. Been making sales left and right, today's my second official day back and once again I jumped right up to 1st place in sales for the day in 5 hours worth of work.

I dunno...just rambling now I guess. But I thought I'd share this little revelation I had.

My drug was alcohol (though I used oxy to curb withdrawal when available). In my first week sober I am feeling calmer and more able to handle things at work too. On Monday, stuff that would have knocked me flat was taken in stride. We are clearing up!

You know what, I found myself very impatient and I'd snap at them for every little thing because they were interfering with my "high" Sad huh? But now that I'm sober it doesn't happen so much (although it does happen, cuz kids are aggravating, lol)

P.S. Your company has made so much money off me. I get my Sirius radio antennas from you all because me cat eats through them all the time!

Heh, ccgirl you know, when u need to buy an antenna the Stratus radio is the same price or even cheaper. Though it does only come with the car antenna...
