Hello It's been a while since I posted. Thought I'd dump some stuff on you guys. I been working non stop on my house got to be in it by aug. 17 for insurance reasons. Two weeks ago I started getting sick, I would feel fine then a hot flash then vomitt imediatly. Held off long as I could and went two the doc. He said nerves and gave me 60 zannies and uped my ambein to two 10 mg pills a night. Said they have a 20 coming out its in euro now. He also gave me meclizine. Told wife bout the two ambine she said B.S. Still sick went back yesterday took her with me. I had 8 zannies left yesterday .5 and four ambien got up this mourning Aftter I evidently tossed and turned all night keeping wife awake and they are all gone. I dont remember taking them. But I know I did, so all hell broke loose around baggers house today. Doc took me off the meclizine and put me on ondansetron and protonix. I was taking them right but I would puke then take them agin guess Im trying to justify. Am I going to have to W/d off these zannies got two refills but not planning on getting them filled after last nights deal.

(((Bagger))) It's good to see you back, but hate that you're going through this. I know that, for me, I can't have a prescription of xanax....I would eat them like M&M's. My stepmom takes pain meds/muscle relaxers and will take more because she "forgets" when she takes them. I hope you get to feeling better soon, but am glad you are addressing this now, before it goes on too long. Hugs and prayers! Amy

Hey, Bagger. I have a lot of stomach problems and while they can be exacerbated by stress, I think doctors diagnosis way too much stuff as stress. I would keep digging into the physical symptoms and ask your doctor to do more extensive testing before giving you more addictive meds. JMO

Hi Bagger, Please sit down and evaluate the priorities in your LIFE. And realize where your LIFE is on the list. You will likely find that without good health & frame of mind NOTHING else matters. Talk to the doctor, taper off of the Xanax, perhaps face the underlying root of your problems instead of just painting over them with meds.

First zannies I had in a year almost to the date. Dont think I got much meds in me cause I threw up almost everything I drank. I been taking ambien for 7 8 maybe10 years. Have a sleep disorder where my clock dosent stay in time with real world if I dont take sleep meds. My house burnt last Aug. 17 and if Im not moved in by aug. 17 I dont get a 20 percent inflation clause. This was a total loss so 20 per quite a big chunk. My life is good and I'm gonna make it work however comes down. no need to taper just no refills. Are these stomach meds addictive? This Doc knows my history of alcohol and drug abuse. After the fire I had to have my toenails removed he gave me hydro script I said NO THANKS. Doc said you gonna be sorry tonight when you need somthing for the pain. I hurt but I made it. I'm not looking to escape my life or responsibilites just wish some others would live up to theirs.

How difficult it is to get off the xanax will be almost entirely dependent on whether you've been addicted to them in the past. If not, a short course of them shouldn't cause you too much grief. If so, then, well, it's gonna be a problem. Sorry you're going through so much drama my friend. By the way, this sleep disorder you speak of? I believe it's called addiction to sleeping pills...

Bagger, my husband takes and anti depressant called Trazadone for sleep issues. It helps and it's non-addictive. Plus, from what I've read, after large lenghts of time, sleeping pills lose their effectiveness.

((Bagger)) This is NOT medical advice..just what I learned as a nurse. The stomach meds are not what I think of as addictive, BUT like with a lot of meds, once your body gets used to them, it has a hard time remembering how to function normally without the meds. It's like a rebound effect...if you take an acid neutralizer for a while, then stop taking it, your stomach may produce MORE acid when you first stop taking them because it doesn't realize the medicine isn't coming in anymore. I know of people that have had to take stomach medicines for years and years. Others just need it for something acute. Best thing is to keep an open line of communication with your Dr. If you think of questions, write them down and take them with you the next time you see the dr. I was always one that would walk out of the office and then remember something that I'd forgotten to ask him! Good luck on your house....I remember when it burned down and have often wondered how you were doing. Hugs and prayers! Amy
