I been sick - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I hate being sick. What started early last week to be a bad flu by the end of the week it turn into a severe case of bronchitis. I went to the doctors on Saturday and he gave me antibiotics and since he knows am a recovering addict no cough syrup with codeine. Instead I got mucinex with expectorant. My chest is killing me. Every time I cough I sound like the living dead. I been bed ridden for the last three days just getting up to stretch and circulate my legs, eat, feed my cats, and I been drinking lots of water, I go to the bathroom and then back to bed.

I finally feel a little better this morning that am acutely sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of coffee and eating some cookies. Am on my computer looking over some emails and catching up on what’s been going on here at SR. Its funny how the memory never forgets. When I was lying in bed tired with body aches, sneezing, watery eyes and a runny nose, I was thinking about the days I use to be sick from w/d’s from my DOC and how grateful I am today that those days long gone and are over with. In a few days I will be enjoying the forth of July, back to work, back to my meetings and enjoying life again. One day at a time. I hope everyone is doing good.

I'm sorry you're sick, Ivan. Hope you feel better soon. The flu/bronchitis sucks bullets!

Sick definitely sucks...and bronchitis is one of the worst! Haven't had THAT in many years! Hope you feel better enough where the 4th won't be a problem. Stay away from high smoke areas...like up-wind from the fireworks!

Aw, Ivan, I don't know how old you are but I'm going to go into mom mode. Cookies for breakfast. That's not going to help you get better soon, lol. I get bronchitis a bit too; I like mint or ginger tea.

Mind you those were Italian cookies. Fresh from the bakery. They were good to.
