(((Kari))) - so good to see you back!!! I think I was born 100 years too late, too. Can't figure out if there's a way I can just get online the old-fashioned way...plug a damn cable into my computer??? I'm going to stop by BestBuy tonight on the way to work and see if an external wireless thing will work. Dad HAS one, but my computer says I need to download a driver for it...um, you can't download anything if you can't get on the internet ya dummmies!!!

cc - unfortunately, the pool HAS been uncovered all this time...it's really nasty. It would cost dad 1000's of $$ to get it cleaned up and we still couldn't afford the electricity to run the pump and so it just sits there...18 x 36 and it used to be nice!

Elvis is helping me type....so if something comes up crazy, HE did it!

I slept most of the day and all night....obviously needed the sleep! Back to work tonight.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

((Amy)) Thanks as eeyore would say.. "for noticin me" hehe. I am sorry you guys can't use that great pool..maybe someday it will work out better and it will be back up and running again. We didn't get our pool functioning this year either.. just so much work for me to do alone and the ground really needs to be leveled where it sits. toooo mucho work.. Today was looong was shopping and went to a local festival/carnival... my daughter and I had fun riding a few rides, but the winds here were gusting at 50-60 mph so it was short lived. I have started my own kind of spring cleaning.. tearing everything out of every corner and my closet sorting it all out and pitching un-worn crap. I have stuff from all extremes.. from when I was 300 pounds to when I was down to 120 like I will ever see that again.. lol. someday maybe .. if I get my butt disciplined enough.. are the pigs flying yet?? hehe. Well gotta get back at it... I just started a crock pot full of pasta fagioli .. just like olive gardens.. yuuuummmy.. gonna have to wait up 5 hours for it to finish thou.. grrr. wheres the coffee?
hugs..
Kari

kari, I hate doing the closet thing, too. I have clothes from 200 lbs down to about 120 also. I boxed the large sizes up because even though I've kept the weight off, you never know and I'll be damned if I pay for fat clothers twice, LOL

I'm back on the internet..got a USB wireless thing and it works! Now, the cordless mouse doesn't work and the directions say plug it into the computer....it's cordless, there's nothing to plug. Guess I'll go back to BestBuy because I don't like the touchpad thingie.

Elvis bit me (not hard) because I told him to stop licking the mayo off the tomato on my BLT I brought home from work. He's getting pretty "mouthy", but is now draped all over me and meows if I dare to move!

Work was good...even the drunks tipped good and I didn't miss a thing by calling out the night before because it was slow. I think I have arthritis...hips and back are killing me. Hopefully a good day's rest will help.

Kari and cc - if I don't stop eating pretty darn soon, I will need your "big" clothes! I didn't do too bad last night, though...a cup of chicken noodle soup and so far, only half my BLT. I don't feel like fighting with Elvis to eat the other half!

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

I got rid of alot of clothes this summer too...basically if I hadn't worn it in a year or more, then it went in the garage sale bag!
Unfortunately I went out the other day on a little shopping spree and ended up buying more stuff that I probably didn't need.
I bought a real nice skirt outfit because every now and then I actually have something to go to that requires something "nice" and I got tired of running out the day before to grab something. That is justifiable, isn't it??? (LOL)

Mikko's harness training didn't go so well yesterday and I ended up putting the thing back in the drawer where it has been for years! I got the thing on him OK but he looked so pitiful that I just couldn't stand it...plus he got his little foot stuck in the strap and it scared him. Soo, there goes my dream of having a bird I can take outside with me....I do have a small cage though that he can go out on the deck with me so that will just have to surfice!

Hubby and I watched "Cloverfield" last night and if you can handle the awkward camera movements, it's actually a pretty good movie!! We also had a huge t'storm come up during the movie with thunder so loud it shook the whole house! I thought it was cool how it kind of added a special effect to the movie!! LOLOL!!

I actually have some energy today so must get going and possibly get something constructive done around here!! Maybe if the sun actually comes out later I will swim too!!
((HUGS)) Happy Sunday ((Ladies))

nice to see everyone chipper this morning!!

I think I'll spend some time getting my daughters bedroom ready. She's moving out with us in 2 weeks and I want to have it all done up for her. Then probably back to the sprinkler with my boy. Pretty hot out again today.

(((Jane))) I can just imagine how pitiful Mikko looked. I tried putting my cats on a leash years ago....I swear they have rubberbands for backbones, as Sanford (he looked just like Elvis) could manipulate his way out of it, no matter HOW tight I put the collar on...I gave up.

When I got my first kitten (Amber), I got this neat little scratching post that had a toy hanging from it. Amber swatted at the toy, and the cord got wrapped around his paw and he was "screaming". I felt he had been traumatized, got him free and gave him lots of TLC. He went BACK to the toy and swatted the hell out of it, like he was mad at it...so much for trauma. It ended up being his favorite thing in the world.

Okay, off to work. Have to get gas on the way in, but at least it's down to $3.87 now.

Jane - your storms must have headed this way, because we are now getting the thunder and rain.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Darn, where is everyone? Oh yeah, busy with life

Just got the internet on again...AT&T had to come and get us going. I think I will pitch a fit if dad tries to change anything else on the internet!

Going to work early tonight and tomorrow night. Business has been good and my buddy, AJ, got out of jail today and will be back at work tomorrow night.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone! I'm supposed to be getting ready for work...can you say "procrastination"? I think I'm too old for 3rd shift, but we make more money than the other shifts, so I'll stick with it.

Amy I hope you have a good night at work!! I just came in at 10 pm from planting flowers.. lol.. I know my neighbors must think I am a total idiot.. I love planting at night thou.. sooo peaceful, well and not to mention that I just don't have any fricken time to myself anymore.. lol. Both of my days off are packed with doctors appts. drives me NUTS. I know I am the only one that can control that.. but seems it is necessary until they figure out if I have cancer or not.. grr..so frustrating. I have been seeing a chiropractic neurologist who I think his main mission in life is S and M torture. I feel ten times worse than I ever have before. I think I might just keep going to the good ole regular chiro I was going to before. Screw the left brain lesion.. gotta pick my battles .. lol. pretty pathetic I know. We are celebrating my moms birthday tomorrow so maybe will get to go to the steakhouse. Sometimes a good hunk of cow is good.. not always but sometimes.. it hits the spot. Well I gotta hit the showers just realized how dirty my feet were from being in the garden. ..eww.. nite all

I've always wanted a garden Kari. you're lucky. I have a hard time keeping house plants alive so I'm not sure how I'd fair out with veggies.........which is too bad 'cause I love fresh veggies. (oops, this isn't the whining thread is it........)

Amy - I hope you made it to work ok. They would be in trouble with one less penguin there.........
hope everyone else is having a great night!

Krista, I just have a flower garden at this house.. I love fresh veggies too, I wish I could get a full one going but just don't have time. I used to have the most beautiful flower beds at our other house.. the soil was perfect for planting.. this place.. ehhh.. not so good. My hanging baskets look like death for marigolds.. like little skeletons sticking out of the desert.. pathetic.. I don't know why my hanging baskets are doing so poorly.. everything else in the ground is good.. I don't know.. ticks me off thou.. lol. Not to mention I have to send my newfie out on bunny duty every now and then cause they love my flower beds too.. grrr.. I don't hurt the little guys.. just try to "relocate" them to the neighbors.. hehehe.

lol.

but um....what is that from? (my pretties....) it's something creepy with a witch or something with moles rubbing her hands together. talking about kids or something. maybe it was Hansel and Gretel. lol. sorry - the bunny topic was a much better one - but I just had a weird flashback when you said that

so my boy managed to stay awake.......and we went down the road and saw the fireworks. nothing spectacular. plus we were watching them from a distance, I like being there in the middle of everything. but it was good. and boy it's nice to look forward to little things like that!!

(((Kari))) - sorry your new chiro is trying to kill you! I really hope you get some answers, soon. Not knowing is hell!!

((Krista)) - I made it to work, and they worked this penguin half to death! The next time I whine because business is slow, hit me with the frying pan! Busy, I like....slammed, it's brutal!

I had a party of 16 men/boys, ate $180 of food. My "friend" may have taken some money off the table, but there was only $3. 10 of them handed me their checks with the money, and it looked like $5, at the most, left over. I found a coupon and took $2 off of about 7 of their meals, so ended up with a good tip. Marilyn knew what I was doing and was laughing about me "cheating". Technically, I could be fired for it, but when I told her about the $8 tip for all that, she was cool with it.

It's crazy...it will be really slow all 2nd shift. Marilyn sends people home to not go over on labor, then about 10 pm in walks 50-75 people. It took me forever to bus my tables, and over 2 hours to clean the restaurant. I think I could use a chiropractor myself!

Got home, no kitties waiting at the door for me. Got inside, and here come all 3, half asleep but begging for treats. Elvis is now perched on my hip, as usual, and the other 2 found somewhere else to sleep. Whoever made the coleslaw at work put way too much dressing on it and I meant to bring home some for Elvis....he's the only cat I know that likes coleslaw....at least the dressing.

Oh, and Kari...around my house you'd have to worry more about the deer getting into your gardens. I've come home several nights and we'll have 4-5 deer in the yard. They are such beautiful animals, but I always worry about them running in front of my car. Stepmom swerved to miss one not too long ago, ran over the stop sign and punctured the gas tank...only a few hundred feet from the house.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

ummm I think that would be the wizard of oz where the witch called the ruby slippers her pretties. .. lol.. its a classic.. loved it as a kid.. ok.. still do.. geeshh.. lol.
Amy.. omg.. we are loaded with deer here in the boonies too.. I told my husband I am going to start driving the suv just so I can hope to have one run out in front of me to wreck it.. I know i know sounds bad.. but would love to get out from under that payment.. my luck thou.. it would be my little sports car that got totalled.. grr.. just would be my luck.
yes I think my chiro has gotten the drift that he is trying to kill me.. cause I literally stop breathing when he goes to touch me... hurts.. ooouuuuuiee.. then today his perfect little wife.. pageant queen said.. I looked too good to be "sick" that sick people and people with pain.. don't do their hair and wear makeup and dress nice. I was liike you have to be kidding me. So because I choose to look nice and be somewhat dressed decent cause it was my moms birthday and we were going to nice dinner and I also had a consultation with a plastic surgeon..then I must not be in pain.. and I must not have fibro.. and I must not be "that" bad.. then she started in on my tattoos.. telling me cause I have them.. I have a high pain tolerance and should be able to handle most of this stuff.. I was LIVID. If it wasn't for the fact that my insurance covers this guy.. I would have told her off right there. anyway.. I gotta hit the hay.. sooo tired.. but not hurting.. God forbid.. I look "too good" for that.. GRRRRRRRR .. BREATHE.. 1..2...3... 4.. 500.. 1000...
hope everyone else had a great day!!
Hugs
Kari

((Kari)) - I was told I didn't look like a crack addict, either...WTF do they know?! I think that's where most people have problems with fibro....you don't really LOOK sick, but no one knows what you're dealing with. The last few years of my life, mom was so sick and everyone kept saying "but you look so good!". She swore, she was going to put on her gravestone "I TOLD you I was sick, dammit!"...we didn't put it on there

Got into it BIG time with Lucy, my mgr. I'm pms'ing and didn't want to rip the heads off of bunnies, but Lucy's head was in danger. Went off on her AND her son, who stands around and talks (making $8.54/hr) and I'm working but she's getting on to ME about "get off the clock".

Stormed out to my car, thinking of the talk I was going to have with my new GM. Then started thinking about going to my dr. to get something for nerves...huge red flag. Finally, just said "God, help me out 'cause I don't know what to do". Then started thinking that I really do like Lucy and her family (I know most of them), like my job, pay my bills, and getting another job is not an easy task.

Called Lucy back, explained that I was pms'ing and apologized. Explained that they expect me to do too much AND get off the clock early. She apologized, too, and we are cool. Felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and cranked my new stereo up and listened to my favorite songs.

Went to the grocery store to get MORE cat treats. Talked to my buddy that works there (he's another cat lover) and a cop that was in there. Then I looked down and realized that I had unbuttoned my shirt like I normally do, but didn't have my t-shirt on underneath! Luckily, I still had my apron on, but still showed a little more skin than I would have liked. My buddy and the cop didn't seem to mind. Told Anvil I think I need to go back to "how to get dressed" school.

((cc)) - hope the migraine is better. My stepsister has them and they are brutal. I have "mild" ones...the flashing lights and I just take some excedrin and go in a dark room and rest.

I'm off the next 2 nights. Going to pay my car insurance a week early, as well as a few other bills.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

You're right cc - I would eat them like M&M's, which is why I realized that was NOT an option.

Kari- I don't know if you've given up completely on the pool, but I have been meaning to tell you I did mine with 10 bags of top soil, 12ft 2X4, and a level by my self, (It's full now and water is only off in one spot by about a half an inch, it's a 15' by 48" metal frame,). If you want to know how I did it let me know, I'd be glad to tell you. Last year I refilled it 3 times and never got it level
