| I'm EIGHTEEN!
Nope, not the Alice Cooper song for all you rockers out there- Roadie turned 18 months clean and sober over the weekend. This is a new milestone for me and I have to thank my friends in 'The Band' - a workshop for way cool middle-aged alcoholics and addicts- for all the support and showing up every Wed. I celebrated by giving my 5th step to my Sponsor last night and tonight a brother in the program is coming over to give his 5th to me. It'll be my first time for that honor. I was also asked to give my first lead next weekend in Speedway so that'll be ultra cool. All I can say is that in my experience (been around these rooms since 2002), is that if you MAKE FRIENDS and FIND Higher Power that you stand a damn good chance of making it to long term sobriety. Peace, Michael

'hat' me? you'll have to esplain that one CC Thanks everybody, just when I thought that I was forgotten about here on SR, a bunch of old friends show up for my party. I don't post here anymore, but my workshop sure keeps me busy. I still attend meetings on Sat and Sun A.M. at our local AA club here in Indy, and Wed nights are very special when The Band convenes at my home. This is quickly becoming the 'house of AA' and even my license plate says as much. In Indiana we get three numbers and three letters on our new plates and mine are xxxBAA- as in "BE AA"! How cool is that eh? The Band started with 18 guys this time around, this is a speed round- we're just doing the 12 steps from the 12/12, not much check in or lead meetings this time. The last round went about 14 months and since we're all seasoned vets this time, we decided to keep it to 6 months or so. I just gave my 5th step, heard on 5th step, and am listening and giving a second time just for good measure. We're all going to be very tight friends after this week of hearing each other's shite! LOL So how's the rest of my gang here on SR doing? Let's do a quick check-in if you please!

Life just showed up. I lost my job today. It corresponded directly to my 18 months of sobriety and gave me a purpose for each day. I'm scared although I just gave a 5th step and a lead this past week. I'm going to return to my old home group at noon today and spend time with others in AA. DANGER DANGER

Prayers, Michael, coming your way. Throw it on the table - don't let it fester in the dark. Peace & Love, Sugah

Thanks Sugah. I've been hitting my old nooners group, getting some medical checkups done since I still have insurance, getting things done around the house. Friends in AA and from work say this is the happiest they've ever seen me. I'm sober and I'm free!
