Caffeine

I am in recovery from Cocaine addiction and I am coming to realize that I can't handle caffeine anymore. It spikes my anxiety and makes me feel like I am geeked out...anyone else having similar issues?

yes...I do...

I'm a recovering pot-addict and I can't drink coffee anymore...it causes me to get very anxious....and that always have been a trigger for me to relapse..

I switched to green-tea,,it still has some cafaine in it, but it picks me up slowly and brings me down slowly again too, without physical symptons such as stomach problems that coffee gives me. Green tea is also pretty healhty and easy for your body to process..

In addition to causing me anxiety, caffeine also causes me to lose sleep and that makes for long days. I can’t even do the green tea thing right now. Maybe one day in the future it won’t be so bad.

Absolutely. Coffee, Cola, whatever, it's all off the list for now. For me, it brings back the w/d's and anxiety.

Not caffeine addicts. LOL.

I’ve heard that there was a theory that sugar was good for alcoholics, but I think that was proved to be a myth.

That myth may stem from the sugar cravings an alcoholic gets when they first stop drinking.

I have to be careful with caffine. It causes me to sleep very light, if at all.
I need deep sleep or I can't funtion properly.
