I want to share a couple of success stories. My former co-worker who was also addicted to crack went to rehab back in June. I spoke to him yesterday. He has been clean the whole time. He said its get easier every day. The first 30 days were really tough but he doesn't think about very often anymore. He did think about it last week for a minute when he happened to go to a store that was on the same road where his drug dealer lives. HOwever, he had his wife in the car and after a minute of craving, he realized how foolish that was. Another former co-worker (yes, it was a screwed up place) who is an alcoholic has been clean for 37 days. He is 55 years old. So, it can be done. JUST DON'T GIVE UP I, myself, am on day 16 after being addicted to crack for over 10 years. I know, 16 days is nothing, but I feel good and I am lucky to have a great wife who supports and helps me. By the grace of God, my time of dancing with the devil is OVER |

Today is my 8th month clean. I checked myself in to a rehab facility in June, and I'm not going to say it's been easy, but it has been rewarding and challenging. The difference this time and all the others - besides doing it with professionals, I have faith in myself and the desire to stay clean, and I'll beat that old drum -- meetings.

Congratulations on the 16 days Hartford. It's a miracle and it IS a big deal. Go to NA meetings, do the 90/90 , get a sponsor and you will increase your chances of staying in recovery. Good Job! Congratzzz CC on a GREAT achievement... |

Congratulations on 16 days!!! I know when I was smoking crack, 16 HOURS was an eternity to go without, so 16 DAYS is definitely something! Hugs and prayers! Amy

my "husband" and i are enjoying a crack free life today! shortly after we met over 5 yrs ago he revealed to me that he had a habit. so i made the rather stupid decision to say, ok, let's just do some - thinking that would keep him from going off out there.....i'd done a bunch of coke back in the 80s figured, no prob.......ha, BIG prob! things got worse before they got better.......that sh!t is so evil......but we kept trying and today, just for today, crack no longer rules our lives. he's been addicted for 20+ yrs, 3 rehabs, multiple geographics......i've always been your run of the mill situational addict, whatever you got, i'll do....on paper it didn't look like we stood a chance in hell...... but today we both have good jobs, and actually GO to them!....we just bought a house last november, on a freakin' lake no less (that's him and the dog fishing off our dock in my avatar pic)......as long as we take nothing for granted, and make good choices, there's a beautiful life to be lived. but we are always and only one baaaad decision away... |
