What is it about Crack?

Crack is my drug of choice. I smoked pot, drank alcohol, took Lortabs or Xanax or just about anything else I could get my hands on over the years but nothing took me down like Crack.

It took me about 2 months to get addicted. It got so bad that within 6 months I was in jail. After getting out and going to rehab, I thought well as long as I don't go back to crack I will be okay. I resumed smoking pot. After a few months, I got the brilliant idea to mix crack in the joint. This seemed to be the perfect solution. I could get some of the high without going crazy. This resulted in me having semi-control of the situation for awhile.

I was able to function, do my job (had a VP position), and not spend too much money. I thought this will work. It has caught up with me now though. I have lost my job, just about to lose my house, and my family is very angry with me. What a damn fool!

I have been clean now though for 6 days. I started a new job today (worried sick that they will find out about my past though) and my wife has agreed to join me in counseling. She says its the last time.

Hope to God to be able to recover.

Hi, Why don't you join me in finding a new way to live dope free? I am only 6 days clean but have hope in a new life.
I have been going to NA and for the first time in 2 years I have a sponser. Pickup your phone and check out a meeting, I really think that this step will be the best thing for you and your job,marriage,sanity, ect.

I agree with emmer.....I walked into an NA meeting on Feb 10 (this year) and have been clean/sober since. What they told me was "Don't use no matter what" & "go to meetings." So far, it seems to be working.

I was sober for a year, dry for two and started smoking pot again, now im back to smoking crack all the time and in debt. its so easy to get, I keep wanting to stop but then that feeling, naseauting craving gets such a hold on me i usually always use it. every now and then i make it a day or two but I smoke weed all the time.
i was given a gift of being able to a little time, peace. it was hard, im just really sick now and all my thinking is mostly bad. i can't trust myself anymore and i hate that.

I decided to pray, just ask for help and mean it. I cried and begged for it to stop. When I got off my knees I realized I had to get to a 12 step program and get a sponsor. Today life is pretty good I wish well…

I think it is great that your wife will be joining you. I believe that extra push of support will help you so much!
