Need Help: Oral/Saliva Drug test

Do any of you know anything about saliva drug tests? I recently was offered a really nice job opportunity, but I will have to take a saliva drug test later this week. And I relapsed on pot not too long ago. Most research ive done on saliva screens say it is only detectable short term, usually 1-4 days which in that case i should be ok. I just ordered a saliva detox kit from the internet, just to be on the safe side. If anyone has any experience with saliva drug tests, or knows anything about them, please let me know.

When I was in treatment, after going on a day pass, they administered a urine and sliva test both when I came back.

I was told the saliva test was to detect anything you may have taken/used just before walking back in the door that the urine test wouldn't pick up because it had not made it into your system yet.

In that event, I would think it could only pick up alcohol and/or anything smoked (maybe).

That's all I know about them though. I would think that a saliva test would be really inaccurate, but that's just an assumption on my part.

My suboxone clinic gave me a saliva test and I had already told them that I took some non-prescribed xanax 3 days earlier. They said "that's fine but you have to stop and we better not find it in your saliva" as if to imply that it would not be accurate enough to detect that. Sure enough the spit-test came up negative.

So my impression is that saliva tests are not very accurate, they just catch out the most hopeless addicts who do drugs in the parking lot of the clinic right before they walk in.

How was the test administered for you guys? Did you spit in a cup or something or did they swab your mouth...And did either of you smoke pot a week or so before it?

Swab in mouth (with yummy, cottony, q-tip aftertaste - BONUS).

I had not used anything for 3 months prior. Mine came back clean, obv.
