OK. on may 25th 08 I was ran over by a drunk driver on my motorcycle! He pinned me under his car and pushed me down the street at 60 mph for 45 yards. When we came to a stop i was still conscious. I had multiple fractures in my right tibia. her-line fractures in both my ankles. I had road rash on my hands and knees all the way down to the bone. My skin was ripped off my left foot so bad that you could see my ligaments and bones. The radiator from his car fell out of his car and laid on my left leg and burnt it to the bone for 15 Min's until the medics go there. I am prescribed to 5 10-325 nor-cos a day and a 10mclg fentyinal patch. Even though I still am in a lot of pain! I am done with with taking these meds! Why because I am not taking them as prescribed! For one they don't help with the pain as prescribed and two i take more then prescribed so that i dint feel the pain and i don't feel dope sick. I know I have a problem that is why I am back here again! I NEED OFF AND I NEED HELP! I LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE I THINK BECAUSE OF WHAT THESE MEDS HAVE TURNED ME INTO!

I just saw that the you originally started this thread in '07. You got off the pills then. How long did you stay clean? How did you stay clean? Is NA still not an option you'll consider? Peace & Love, Sugah

Those are some pretty nasty injuries, ITD. Have you talked to your doctors about your concerns regarding the pills? Peace & Love, Sugah

I have nerve pain from RSD. In my experience, opiates do very little for nerve pain. There are many drugs (anti-seizure drugs) to treat that kind of pain. Are they offering you alternatives? Peace & Love, Sugah

Okay, we're getting somewhere. You can learn to live with pain. It is possible. It's possible to live with pain and have serenity and peace. Have you reconsidered NA? Peace & Love, Sugah

I have no first-hand experience with suboxone. Others here do. I'd be getting an attorney to sue the guy who hit you. My husband does some personal injury. Most attorneys will not charge you, but they will take a chunk of your settlement. Peace & Love, Sugah

Man, I wish I could help with this one. I know you're in a dangerous place with the pain the the dope. Be honest with the doctors about how much you like the dope.

Sorry about your accident, bro, that friggin SUCKS! Man that sh*t looks painful. Pretty easy to see how something like that happening could lead you back into the hellhole that is active addiction. I'm sure that's what would've happened to me, too, in your shoes. Seriously, that's some rough stuff. Nevertheless, my advice remains pretty much exactly the same as it was a year ago, ITD. And what would you like to know about suboxone? At this point, it seems to me like a reasonable option to consider. Although being on it is not being OFF opioids, it certainly makes life a lot easier (and normal) until you're really ready and able to quit for good. And it is a decent (not great, but decent) pain killer in it's own right, esp. if you take a bit of advil or the like on top of it. |
