Lied to get Norco....Help!
I feel like scum, (story of my life). I lied to a doctor yesterday and got an RX for 30 Norco. As soon as he receives my medical records from my previous Dr. he is going to know I lied. I'm scared now that I am going to Jail. I'm also scared that I have 30 Norco. I can't make myself flush them. I don't know what to do. Someone please help.

Maybe go back and tell your doctor - I am a struggling addict - here's your 30 pills back. I apoligize for lying.
A large part of recovery is honesty, and I won't go thru with being dishonest.
That's what I would do. ...Joe

(((Emmer))) you are so wise!
Angelface I hope you find the strength to sort this out. You will feel a whole lot better for facing up to it. You can use this opportunity to ask the doctor for help. I did that recently and yeah it was scary but I do feel a lot of relief that it's out in the open. The burden of carrying around this secret is just too hard and stressful, as you are finding out.
Well done for reaching out here.
Hugs, Squirty x

Sure the idea is good..but what addict who has just lied to get their meds is going to go back and give them to their doctor...I have NEVER been known to return a bag of dope to the dealer...
just my 2 cents but chances are not good you will be able to "resist " them....or maybe you did.I hope so.

That is a big dose of "The right thing to do" AF1. I've thought about your situation and wondered if I would be able to do what you did, even after more than a year clean.
Thanks for the incredible inspiration.

Mmmmm?? Not so sure about that. Patient confidentiality is central to the whole concept of medical care................... Nothing in your notes can be revealed to anyone else without a specific mandate signed by the patient him/herself.
Otherwise facing unprofessional conduct at the very least?

I know if it was me I would never go back to the dr. and admit what I did. I kinda dont see the point other than making yourself look worse than u already feel. I think the fact that u r so upset about this speaks for itself. It shows that u dont want that monkey on your back anymore. It takes time to get sober and sometimes we fall in the process. Hopefully this was your last mission when it comes to getting pills. I wish you the best and dont be too hard on yourself. None of us are perfect by any means.
