Quitting cold turkey..

I don't know why I said they tapered me off of Valium in the hospital. They actually gave me Suboxone for about 7 days. Does that mean I was cold turkey'd off of Valium? I have no idea..

I am probably going to an outpatient detox sometime this week. I am also seeing my dr and making an appointment with a PCP.

Hey Liz,
Suboxone is a medication for the treatment of opiate dependence and Valium is, of course, a Benzo. They are not connected. What other medications did they give you?

I mis-read your post..and thought you were using PCP..
I guess things could always be worse huh??
I really feel you liz..feel like I am having my worst WD that is ongoing ..and the anxiety is killer tonight...I don't sleep at all. Do you?? Do you ever wake up in a panic??
I know it gets better..I KNOW it

Hi gals,

they didn't give me anything but Suboxone. I was also abusing Vicodin and Tramadol. I am taking Neurontin now which isn't doing a thing.

I am calling an outpatient center this morning. I feel awful. My body feels heavy, ringing in my ears, uncoordinated, no sleep; etc.

Sounds like u went cold turkey of Valium. It's rough. I went off benzos and opiates cold turkey (locked up) and it was hell but took only 12-13 days. I did not sleep forever. Now, I can't wake up. After 24 yrs of addiction, i'm free at last. My advice is try to get ot over with it ASAP. There has to be some pain involved, again that's my op. or it will take forever. Just do it!
