How strong are we??

I know that as addicts we have incredible strenghts that we ourselves usually do not give ourselves credit for? Sometimes it hels me if I try to list some of my strengths..you know GOOD things about myself instead of the usual self condemnation my mind focus' on..

So I am going to attemp to list 5 GOOD things about myself! Sometimes I have to dig deep but maybe it well help me to do this today..i am bummed today and trying to find anything good about myself! PLEASE join me guys..and gals..

1- I am a survivor.
2- I am humorous
3- I am a good listener
4-I keep a nice home
5-I care about other people

Geez that was HARD!! This is probably a stupid thread but I am posting it anyways!! See ..there I go AGAINwith that negative crud!!! ARGHHHHH.
Maybe if I dot his more often that negative stuff will go away!!

I think it is a good idea.
I need to do the same.

1. I am funny and like to laugh.
2. I have a good heart.
3. I am smart. Even tho I dont act like it sometimes.
4. I have the best family anyone could ask for.
5. I am not a quitter.

3. I make a constant attempt to not put my hurt onto another person.
4. I care about people.
5. I am constantly growing.

You guys all have such wonderful qualities. You should print them and put them on your refrigerator. I know that sometimes I forget that at one time my AD had some really good qualities. They are hard to find under her addiction and her mean, nasty attitude toward me. I love reading the threads here because they remind me that you are wonderful people, worthy of good things in your life and that my daughter is still inside, the addiction is just hiding her. good idea north - i have a hard time seeing the "good" in me sometimes, so ill try to come up with 5. it might take a while!!!

this really is a nice thing..i think it will be great to remind ourselves as often as we can that we are good, deserving people!!

cass - to follow up on your post - something i like about myself is that i love music and have a lot of "useless" knowledge about it!! makes for good conversation sometimes!

Hey Chiy..funny that you said you "don't lie"..earlier I wrote a post and mentioned how you speak your truth even when it is not popular. I admire that in you alot!! i could go on and on about all the stregths I see on this board...and maybe I WILL!!!

Cass...having a beautiful successful child..who is independant and self confident enough to spread her wings is a huge accomplishment.!! I am so happy she is doing so good ya know?? Even though you miss her you are doing a great job at letting go with love!!

something i found out about myself today that i like: i am easy to talk to!! i never thought i was, but i was at my friends work today and this girl was there that apparently doesnt speak to anyone but she and i had a great conversation!
