| South Fla. detox?
Hi; My 22-year-old son says he is looking to detox from oxycontin. How? By using his street-supplied bupe, of course. He is either serious abut detox or not. In either case, I am reaching out to try and find a South Florida --Palm beach County -- outpatient detox. Six years ago, he detoxed wwith bupe, methadone was a disaster. (Those intervening six years of sobriety were nice.) If he is serious about detox, he needs real help, not his street crap. if he isn't serious, then if I offer an alternatve and he doesn't go; well, then at least I know. I realize I could be drummed out of Al-Anon for even writing this, but if he is seeking help, I will assist him. If he isn't, then it's good that he enjoys sunshine, because he'll get a lot of it here out on the streets of South Florida. Thanks for any and all assistance; I am also calling NA in this area. Prayers to all in your own recovery; Nitelite~ |

Nitelight ... i live in palm beach county and was also an Oxy addict. I went to Fair Oaks hospital in Delray Beach for detox, however it was an inpatient program. Why an outpatient program? Is he going to follow up with some kind of therapy or treatment? The doctor I go to prescribes Suboxone for detox ... if you want his info PM me. |
