Drug Testing

Ok, on a whim I ordered this drug test the other day so I could take it myself. I bought it because I was curious to see if anything would register after 2 weeks of being clean. No other motivation because my job certainly doesn't require it. I guess I wanted to do it for piece of mind. Well, I took the test (urine based) and guess what... I failed. I guess after 3 years of pretty heavy opiate abuse it's not so easy to get this stuff out of your system. Although the test says opiates only stay in your system 2-3 days I guess it's different for addicts. Should have figured on that.

I've felt decent the last two days which I was pretty excited about but today I feel like crap. My stomach is going nuts and my back is killing me. I guess it's just another bump on the road to recovery.

I voluntarily drug test myself as well. It help me be accountable, even if only to myself. Pot was my DOC, which stays in your system FOREVER it seems. It's taken me as long as 3 1/2 months to test clean. I can't tell you how many "treatment professionals" have told me "that's impossible", but I got the tests to back it up. I do a lab test that actually shows the number of nanograms of THC (as well as several other substances I've never used) are in the urine. That way I can at least see some progress. The down side is it costs $40 a pop. The up side, it's helped keep me clean for almost three weeks now, and that's the longest I've gone, voluntarily, for years. Hang in there. Take care.

if you did opiates once, maybe it'll be out of your system in 2-3 days. if your a chronic user, its much longer.

When I did outpatient rehab, part of the program was to pee in a cup for a month. Once my urine was clean, the detox part of rehab was done. So, that's how long it took me to get the opiates out of me.
