knee injury - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I recently suffered a bad knee injury, the doctor put me on Lortab 10 mg. I know about my addiction problem and was worried but my knee really hurt (I could barley walk) so my sponsor had an idea. I gave them to my mom and she took like 10 of them and broke them in half and I took 2 haves a day until my knee got better and she flushed the rest. If I ever get hurt like that again and it calls for narcotic pain meds thats how I will take them so I will be ok.

Boy I know how u feel I have chronic knee pain and there are days I cannot walk its painful thats when I have to get my meds doled out to me too. good idea!

Hi,

I have had 2 unsuccessful back surgeries which require pain meds on a regular basis. I have given by pain meds to my husband who provides me with the meds I need as prescribed by my doctor. This works out fine as there is no way I can abuse them. So I totally support they way you are handling your pain med situation

I wish I could say such good things about my time after surgery. I was given 40 vicodin and later given 30 more from my father. I took them all within a few weeks while constantly smoking marijuana and drinking.

You are inspirational to this small voice.
