The problem is doctors will keep you on benzos way too long and even indefinetly till you croak.

There is no probable answer questioned by that questionable answer, unless engendering a longitudinally extruded logical abstract (the tendention in logic being 'abtruse recodification'), making it an essentially undefined, yet contextually significant pars pro toto).

That's not politics (at least I don't think it is). Those guys like to throw that "banter" around in their thread and I guess they got carried away in your thread.

Do you think I am complaining in my previous post?

JC,

Thinking of ya, hoping you will post back. All we know is you're tapering under supervision after 15 years of dependence and that you are "white-knuckling" it. It does not have to be that way. A skillful taper by the right person can make all the difference. Glad to you hear you are seeing another doctor as opposed to someone who has never done this. Would help to know which benzo you are quitting and why you are doing so now. Share whatever you're comfortable with of course, and good luck!

Ten

Yeah, that's a brutal 'cut'. It's not even a cut. Like you said, it's a cold-turkey cessation. Hopefully the new doc you see tomorrow will reinstate the Xanax and have you tapering each in unison, or tapering from a higher daily level of Klonopin. The Klonopin will cover all w/d symtoms from Xanax but the dose has to be sufficient. You just can't drop 4 mg Xanax in one day.

Hello JC
Whoa - do you mean that you have c/t 4 mg daily xanax? That will be completely brutal. I'm with Ten here - hopefully your doc will reinstate you - get you balanced and then start you off on a really slow taper. Really really slooow. The slower the better - IMO. If you taper slow enough and try to forget that you are tapering at all then you can get off both xanax and klonopin without much in the way of withdrawals - and can continue to lead your life - work and run your home/family .........................
Good luck.
Tons of really good info here - read all the threads - especially from RUNVS - and he can give you info regarding helpful supportive forums too.

Heres another link to answer some of your questions regarding benzodiazepine.

http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/contents.htm

I know your in a serious situation now but I want you to know there is hope and you can completely recover. I personally really do care and understand what you are going through.

Please read some of the info that is being provided here. I strongly recommend not to drastically reduce your benzo intake. You need to read the info we are providing and talk to your doctor. By reducing your dose by a high percentage in a very short time, you become a very high risk for a seizure.

Please keep us updated

Take good care,
RUNVS

If your doctor tapered you to just the Klonopin, stick with that and try to make it do. If it gets too bad call your doctor.

Lightbulb

She was not tapered. She was dropped 4 mg Xanax overnight... there is unquestionably a wrong way to do these things, and you're looking at it once again, I'm afraid.

Post JC, These vivid dreams are a normal part of withdrawal.

Ive had dismembered body parts floating down the river of blood type stuff. Very nasty. Thank God, I wake up.

If you are drinking caffeine at all, quitting immediately may greatly reduce withdrawal symptoms.

Thats my experience, written by my own little hands.

Question Where have you been?

Good luck and get support!

Are you okay? Are you getting support elsewhere.

If you aren’t consuming any caffeine, tea, soda, decaf coffee, excessive amounts of chocolate, etc., then, well, as has been said, a 4mg cut of Xanax all at once is brutal. Have you tried that other doctor you mentioned? Hopefully, this one has a clue?

You could also try more exercise, and meditation, but this is very difficult after a cut this big. This is almost as brutal as a cold turkey w/d in my opinion.

A Doctor cut you from 4mg/daily of Xanax to zero? And you have been on the medication for 15 years? You may want to ask your Doctor about a taper, a complete cold turkey can be dangerous.....something a Doctor sould know.
