A Good Relapse

Okay, for those that dont know you can read my story on the second page of this forum titled "need some advice"


As I said in that post, I just bought a house up here in PA. As I was unpacking and going through some of my clothes I found an old pill bottle in last years winter coat.
Yes, what a dilemma! It had four Oxy 20mg's in it.

So I went and took one. But you know what, all the memories came flooding back. And as I drove down the road listening to Adam Green high from that pill.
His lyric came in the song-Pay the Toll: "Stick me baby, tell another lie. When you was gone I balled a passerby, how many drugs does it take to get you out of my mind?"

I knew that this was wrong and it wasn't even worth it. Sure It felt pretty good, but not as good as I was feeling sober. I was proud of myself and had motivation. When I was high all I wanted to do was listen to music. I wasn't going to let Oxy's or H ruin my life.

After getting something to eat, as I was driving I simply threw the last three out. It was a very difficult thing to do. But I was again proud of myself and happy I was able to beat another demon.

So why do I say it was a good relapse? Becuase it kicked me in the ass. It was a wake up.

Good work. I'm always scared that im going to come across some pills laying around that i forgot about. You did the right thing.

Hi Ric....I agree...it WAS a good relapse....like just sticking your big toe into the pit and pulling it right back out instead of jumping all the way into the pit of despair and maybe dying in the process.

that's why I won't clean out closets, cupboards or cabinets without the help of a friend or family member.

I was an excellent stasher!!!!!!! You wouldn't believe the places I've found stuff stashed!
