I have been using hydrocodone 10/500's fo almost a year now off and on. I will do a few some days, then turn around and do 6-8 the next day then not do any for 2 or 3 days. Now IM scared to quite cold turkey even though I did once before. I just want to know since IM not taking an insane amount if anyone thinks it would be safe to quite cold turkey again. the first time I did quite cold turkey I didn't realize you cold have all the adverse affects I just mainly was irritable, angry nauseated and queasy so any feedback would help since there are people here who obviously have more knowledge then me. I am very scared because I have hypertension along with anxiety to help add to the wonderfully fun detox period. Any help would be greatly aprreciated.

Oh man... Slavior. Weird name, nice title (under you weird name I sure don't envy you. To my knowledge, quitting hydro CT is 100% safer than quitting something like Klonopin or Xanax. --That said, maybe some other members might have an opinon to put forward, but given the hypertension and preexisting anxiety you describe, it might be altogether a wiser course to do it under supervision of a doctor. None of us on here can know you like a real-life, examining physician can, right? And your trepidations and preexisting conditions, most esp. at such a young age, are a concern to me. peace - be safe Ten |

Under normal circumstances, I would say it is safe. I quit them, and while it REALLY sucked, I didn't feel like I was going to die (wanted to sometimes) However, with underlying medical issues, I would seek medical help to make sure your withdrawal from them is safe. |

That said, I was doing upwards of 15 tramadol (Ultram) a day and probably six to eight 7.5/325 percs a day when I could get them. I was terrified of detox and really did not want to go inpatient. I was totally honest with my PA (physician's assistant), which was important since he was one of my tram writers. He put me on a pretty good regimen of appropriate meds. I needed to miss three days of work, but that was about it. That's three weeks ago. I'm a bit fluffier from eating, but people tell em I look great. Hell, I'm alive. You may want to do what I did. Get honest with a doctor who understands addiction. Not all do. It sounds like you already know that it's possible to kick. I know I do. All my best, Da Stagebear
