Mikiglen, I really was not YELLING at you, it was a cyberspace joke. And I did not mean to insinuate that YOU had detoxed from oxycontin. Just that you know a lot more than most with your medical schooling and all.... Sorry, if I offended you....again.

Slightly Batty, Glad to hear you have a plan for the oxy.... Sorry about that Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever...I know it's tough, tough. In the 70s while in high school, a big, strong friend of mine contracted that disease from a tick bite. He did not ever notice the tick bite. He just knew he was sick, sick. The doctors did not have much experience with Rocky Mtn. Spotted Tick Fever at that time....needless to say, he damn near DIED before some good smart doctor pulled out his reference books and decided to treat him for the Fever. My friend said that disease hurt like h**l all over and he could barely move. His went on for about 3 weeks before they figured it out... I now know it's mostly those brown ticks with the single little white dot on their back that can carry this disease....and they have to be on you for about 8 hours before they can transmit the disease to you... If it ain't something, it's something else, eh?

OH GOD i put the wrong amount of witholding, medicare, social security on my income tax. i put the original, i never even opened the amended w2 til now. the irs called my boss today...what does this mean? will i go to jail? am i in trouble???? i am scared to death. what do i tell the irs, that he sent me one, then amended it and i just thought it was the same? is this illegal if i put the wrong amount or will they just refund me accordingly? maybe less of a refund? but i didn't do this on purpose, what do i do? i'll call them tomorrow i guess and boss basically fired me because of this. he told me to stop working, not to do anything tomorrow i don't know what to do, y'all

Mikiglen, Wow! The IRS usually does not work that fast...and they don't put you in jail for making a mistake. They do want their correct amount of $$$ though... I can't believe they called your work instead of you. Actually, I can't believe they called anybody. They usually send out a letter or two first.... Your BOSS, I don't even know what to say about that...except sorry. I know this sounds pious and you've heard it before -- but things usually work out best for a reason. That does not make you feel any better right now, I know. It probably even makes you feel worse, and I do not mean to.... But from what you have written about your boss, he would drive ANYBODY nuts. And if he's not paying you for work you are owed, he may even be breaking some state employer laws. The Attorney General of Texas website explains all these laws.... If there's anything I can do to help, let me know....

Do they have a bus system there?? I know you have daycare right??? Boy it is just not your week... sorry no advice..just letting you know you are heard. love north |

Hi Mikiglen, I'm by no means a tax expert but I'd think you could just call the IRS and tell them it was simply an oversight on your part and you are willing to straighten it out. I imagine the most that would happen is that you will be charged a penalty in addition to whatever additional taxes are owed on the adjusted amount. I have no idea why the IRS would call your employer but you can ask them when you call tomorrow what the procedure is. You might also ask them in a roundabout way if this kind of "oversight" would be grounds for termination of an employee. I'd think not. It sounds to me like your boss is playing games with you. Is he an employee of a larger organization or is he the "big chief?" In any event, don't worry too much. It will all work out in the end. Take it day by day and see how it goes. There's no way you're going to prison, sweetie. No chance of that happening, I promise. Let us know what happens, ok? I'll be thinking of you... chichi |

i did call them and they told me it was no big deal. he said to wait until i either got my refund, or a letter, then file an amended return. BUT, i went back into my return to amend it....and my refund amount has been changed to 0 if i don't get any money back, i don't know what i will do, this will devastate me. it's already going to be a lot less than i thought, but why would they change amount owed me on the form to 0? with this being delayed and boss telling me not to work, i'm gonna die. i am so friggin tired of being broke. see, he got his two paychecks...but as soon as i started working for myself again, he does this. he's just psycho and he is the owner of the company he just sets me up to fail...instead of telling me there were problems weeks ago when he was first notified, he waited until they were really mad at me before he told me. he could have put me on another project as well, that i could have been really good at, but he didn't bother to do that, either. i think he likes to see me screw up so he can do this to me. if he really does fire me, though, i have things in e mails i am going to send to that company...like the fact that he told me he didn't care if the leads were bad, just get numbers....and the fact that he didn't talk to me as they requested weeks ago, so i didn't know there was anything wrong anyway, one of my old employers asked me last week if i could set some appts for them, so i'll e mail him and see if i can start working for him at least til boss gets straightened out. at least this company didn't play games and always paid me thanks for all the responses, love you guys

Mikiglen, Good idea and plan on the "boss" deal. You want I should come up there and punch him in his nose? If you are owed $500, you will get $500. It may be that since it is SO early in tax season for the IRS, their new untrained well yet people are making mistakes a plenty.. As if anybody cares, I always turn my taxes in during the last three weeks allowed by law before penalties - the April 15 cut-off date... Because, as with any business, that's when they are the busiest, THEIR big bosses are cracking the whip to get ALL those millions of tax returns that just came in --therefore --they don't look near as hard at each return. Works for me, and I was self-employed, so they tend to look at us REAL hard, knowing we can hide money if we try. My motto always was: NO PAPER TRAIL, NO INCOME....., but I'll deny it in court in case any of you readers are IRS employees - a quick case of amnesia I will develop - "I do not recall," haaaaa. It worked for Pres. Clinton...... "define the word INCOME?"

Check with the local library and community centers to see if they have someone who will help you with your taxes for free. There are many free tax services to those who can't afford it out there in places like that. HTH

MISTI calm down now I didnt thank her for yelling at you. I thanked him/her for the joke about yelling out in cyberspace. (Just kidding. It's kinda fun to just SHOUT into cyberspace at someone, ha.) Thats what I thanked for cause it just gave me a chuckle. I would never thank anyone for YELLING at you for real. Sometimes its nice to get a smile over a post doesnt happen very often and when someone right now with everything going on can give me a chuckle I will thank them. SO thats what that was all about. I certainly hope you were joking though. Didnt mean anything about you giving your expertise on anything. I dont even know why I let that upset me I guess I am just emotional with everything going on. I didnt need that. I as you know have been VERY supportive of you and what you go through on a daily basis. Maybe I should PM this but I'm not I just feel that you called me out and got upset without even knowing the reason why I thanked the person. Alot of people look up to you and your advice and alot of other things as you should know by now. Next time please dont get upset until you know the reasoning please. No one is against you here. Now I feel guilty about posting this and I still am. I spend my whole life trying not to upset anyone but let others upset me without saying a word. I'm sorry if you find this upsetting not meant like that. Well I hope everything is well sorry I havent been around lately just pop in to read and catch up on things to tired to post been working 16hr days plus with the passing of my fiances dad and SIL all within one week things have been very hard and saddening around here not much positive things to talk about either. I will start poping in more often that is if I'm still welcome after finally "speaking" my mind! Talk to you soon.

Misti as far as your taxes yes you will get what it owed. What it sounds like is they investigated your boss on his taxes and thats why he is mad at you. For every check he pays you he also has to pay the same amount of taxes so in reality he made out by doing that "favor" he did for you and maybe he was flagged. The IRS wouldnt contact your employer they would contact you. What it sounds like is you filed the original amount with the right taxes and then he filed with the "new"taxes and they caught that in a cross check. He must have had a few errors with other employees too which is what they caught. So hes pissed that you didnt use the amended on cause now he has to pay the taxes that would have had to been paid if he didnt give you that "favor" so its not your fault at all. He was trying to get away with paying less taxes and got caught hes NUTS. Thats why he sent a you another one with less or more money with different tax amounts on it. So its nothing to do with you. Say for federal they took out 100 he also has to pay 100 too not your fault.

kj0975, A cyperspace SHOUT OUT to you for catching my lame attempt at humor!!!!!~ And I did apologize to Misti if I offended her, and she wrote "no problem." Everyone on here's nerves are on edge probably at little, hence we might not be here, ha. And I for one, am glad you are back posting. And if you don't speak YOUR mind, who's you gonna speak,? ha, again. See just look at me....Im so freaked about not P.O. anyone, that I put in way TOO many ha, ha's, just so people will know I am trying to be kidding/humorous with good intentions... HA! By the way, your assessment of Misti's IRS tax problem is most likely right on! I did not consider that fact/chance - that her boss got caught cheating....He's the one they will "drop the axe" on.... Good reasoning, and probably a little previous knowledge on your part thrown in to boot!! Like as in her boss will get "THE BOOT" from the IRS if he has done much of this... Misti, surely can't be in trouble....heck, the April 15th deadline is not even here yet.....It's on THAT day that heads will roll from the IRS axe.. So, kj0975, welcome back! A death in the family and 16 hours days are tough for even SUPERMAN/SUPERWOMAN. Hang in there, and good luck. Time doesn't heal grief, but it sure helps! Once again, I am

Hey Tenn, you posted a few back about your tiredness. I'm on the same meds you are and have not noticed those symptoms. I take lexapro in the am. and lamictal at night, per my doctor's recommendation. Have you considered it could be some underlying sleep issue? I was exhausted a few years ago and I went for one of those sleep studies where they hook you up and see what your brain does. It's checks for apnea, etc. I didn't have apnea, but I wasn't getting into level 4 sleep which is the restorative sleep, hence I was always exhausted. Maybe you you check that out. I also lost 60 lbs which has helped me sleep a lot. Maybe even try a special pillow. When worst comes to worst, I do take some tylenol pm occasionnally. Well, I've run out of advice. Hey Misti! Hope your day goes well. |

Misti no need to do anything. Its all done and over with. Just another example of the way "typing" and speaking come across differently cause you just cant annunciate when you type like when you speak. Just an misunderstanding! So I hope you have a good day talk to you soon.
