Gratitude

Good, good, good morning!
It's 6:20AM here in NJ, USA. I am off to work in a minute, but I need to post some gratitude.
Today is two weeks and two days since I decided I could no longer remain addicted to pills. It's also two weeks and one day since I have stopped taking percocet and tramadol. I can't believe it, truly. I thought it was a llife sentence.
And (drum roll, please) I slept for NINE hours last night!!! It was chemically assisted, I grant you, but the assistance was provided by a doctor fully informed of my addictions, manipultations and other charms. But I slept.
Da Stagebear is a pretty cynical, sarcastic guy. It's my stock in trade in my "real" life. But here, I can't con the best. I can be real. I can talk, I can "listen" and I can cry, as needed.
Thank you. You have all made this experience, this journey, more bearable than you will ever know.

I am here, now, both for myself and for others. I am a survivor. I want to help others survive.

Awesome, bear. Keep up the great work. Congrats on your sleep and keep that gratitude coming... it will help in those hours and days that really suck.
