Is Vicoden strong as Percocete, what is the difference - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I have been using percocete 5 mg tablet now for two years, seldom vicoden, till recent went through 80 pills this month on top of pecocete, I messed up seriously. Is Vicoden just as strong as percocete? if not why? I ask for I have used more of the Vicoden, I have only a few percocete left, a few vicoden, my taper starts tomorrow, I have a new holder for my pills, my b/f was mine and is an active addict, it was not working, i was not wotking we are not working, I am right now away from him. I drank two beers this am, tok about 45mgs of vicoden, 10mgs of percocete. AS of now? I'm not high at all.
no craving's, but that will come. I am an Agoraphbic meetings i can not go to, tried...

Percocet is a Schedule II narcotic, it is stonger than the active ingredient in Vicoden, which is hydrocodone, a Schedule III narcotic. Schedule II drugs have a greater potential for abuse and are more regulated than Schedule III. I understand that Percocet is harder to quit than hydrocodone.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DRINK ALCOHOL WHILE TAKING PILLS CONTAINING TYLENOL (Acetaminophen). If you do, you risk damaging your liver or potentially fatal liver failure. Trust me, you do not want to get sick or die this way.

If you are taking 5/500 Vicoden pills you are already exceeding the daily limit of 4 grams of Tylenol / day (based on 9+ pills). Not even counting the Tylenol in the Percocet.

Whatever you do, please heed this warning!

Vicodin is hydrocodone. Percocet is oxycodone.

Thank you for the information. I have not drank much if at all during those years of heavy using, this month i have gotten #80 vicoden, I drank not daily, but was finding myself when i had the beer in the fridge to drink as soon as i woken up, for effect. I had choosen a beer, i dislike, i had thought by this that this would slow me down in drinking , how wrong i was. What I do love is Jhonny Black Lable str8 on ice. Guinesess Beer is what I do like too, I see that through-out my opiate addiction never and before that went heavy into booze AKA party person, I have gone to clubs without drinking, i am too out going, booze ehances that and i do not like the person i become, i tend to tell people my entire life story, not safe. I see now i have used the bber to escape while using opiates, ummm the vicoden i had found to be not near as strong, i take one percocete in the AM oral. the rest? I crushed it and sniffed it, like cocaine...the reason instant high, i could not obtain a high by oral use, yeah i am very sick...

Listen to Buzz........what he said is absolutely right. Take care of your liver, and your body. Get off the vic's and the Perc's...taper if possible, it's easier on you if you do it that way. But be determined to get completely off both of them. I know it is hard to do, both physically and mentally, but after a few days it gets better. The main thing is that you get off them before they do permanent damage to your liver, or other parts of your body. You'll be a much happier person, like me, when you get off them.

Also, you really don't need to be crushing oxy's, it's very dangerous. Many people have died from doing that. I know the "instant high" is something that you are seeking by crushing them, but that puts too much stress on your body and sometimes your body can't handle it. People die from sniffing crushed oxy's, or chewing them up. Overdosing on oxy's is becoming more and more common. I've seen way too much of it and most of the time it's teenagers for some reason, but adults die from it too. Take my advise, don't do it. Keep the faith and be strong....

Perc's are stronger.... I started yrs ago with Vic's then they did not work nomore...boom switched to Perc's....now Oxy's and Perc's for breakthough. I do not drink cuz I am afreid to mix. Although a couple weeks ago I knew I was going out with freinds and skipped my 3pm & 11pm dose of Oxy cuz I knew I would have a drink or 2.... I was sore from missing the doses but I'd rather go through minor WD's than mix.
