| I really need help figuring out what to do
Hi, I was a heroin addict off and on for years and have been on suboxone 8 mg/day for almost a year. I really hate it and I'm really angry right now actually because my doctors told me there would only be mild withdrawals at most, and my friends/family have basically forced me to take it, constantly asking me if I'd had my dose that day, monitoring my intake of it, etc. Now I'm researching online that the withdrawals are horrible and last forever. Anyway, I'm a full time student and I want to get off this stuff without having to miss much school. I was figuring I could get off of it by Christmas break, mid-december to early January. That gives me about 6 weeks to detox off of 8 mg/day. I just took 4 today and feel nothing yet, obviously, given the half life. My question is is this feasible and what is a good taper plan if I kick the stuff by December? Or should I forget it and plan to taper gradually over months and months and kick it during school next semester? How bad would it be to decrease by 50% until I'm at .5 mg for a week or two and then jump off? Thanks, Lillie |

Like I said in your other thread lillie http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...t-what-do.html (I need help figuring out what to do) it's best to see your Dr and discuss your plans with them ![]() Because this post has a little more detail I'll leave it open D
